Firstly, RUFC won't sack Warney. Warney is employed by RUFC. He is towing the club line. He has now become the public face of RUFC. RUFC must be happy for him to take most of the flak after every defeat, and there have been many of them.
Secondly, he needs to be given adequate financial resources when the transfer window opens in January. Then we will see whether RUFC want to improve on their current playing personnel. And only then will we see if they want to build for the future.
Assuming that Warne has a real say in the transfer dealings, the track record since he became boss doesn't fill me with confidence about his prospects of getting it right in January.
I would say that Moore turned out to be a brilliant loan signing (maybe too good!), David Ball will come good, Proctor looked good but really unlucky, Williams has done ok, Towell ok but fading a bit after a strong start, and Potter so so.
The rest- O'Donnell inconsistent, Rodak no better and I just don't get why he is here, Emmanuel off the pace, ***mings ok at best, Ajayi very shaky, Ihiekwe now shaky after a decent start, Purrington not really impressed so far, Oniarise I get is a longer term hope, Bray has vanished completely.
The re-signings of Wood and Mattock have to go in the 'not really worked out' category. Mattock I just don't know why he was kept on. Wood, I guess was probably signed as experienced cover but has been pressed into regular service because of frailties elsewhere. He has done ok at times to be fair to him.
There seem to be a couple of themes. Firstly, the forward signings have fared much better than the defensive players signed. On that basis I do understand the calls for a defensive coach although I would like to think that the coaching team we have ought to be able to sort it. Secondly, the younger players signed have fared worse than the more experienced ones. Perhaps that was to be expected.

Agee with most of that. I've not given up on Ihiewke or Purrington. I can't work out why Rodak is playing or why he his here. He can go back along with Emmanuel, in his case only cause ***mings is under contract. Price can go. Need a keeper, a right back & centre back. Replacement for Potter & at least one striker. Frecks could leave, anyone of the wingers can go apart from Williams.
I would like to see us bring in a proven right back and left back with a new central defender with proper experience behind them. That is the top priority.
why doesnt he blood a few of the youth team are they any worse than we have already
Clubs tend to blood young players when they are playing well. A young player's confidence could be massively dented if the team is not playing well and they are knocked from pillar to post. If a club is going to blood a young player they should be looking at someone who is built like a boxer and who doesn't mind the physicality of the game. I always remember a player called Billy Whitehurst. Billy Whitehurst, when he was younger, terrorised opposition defences. He played for Doncaster Rovers, Newcastle United, Oxford United and Sheffield United. His life both on and off the field was very chequered. By the way his autobiography is a very good read.
Billy Whitehurst one of the hardest players to walk on a pitch , dished it out and took it back no diving with him if he hit you ,you went down .Happy days.

One of the hardest if not the hardest in his younger days I'd say.
what i meant is if he is going to be only afford loans then why not try the youngsters out they have to the rough with the smooth when it comes to football. makes mentally stronger
Love to see young uns coming through but we all know it's a massive step up to 1st team ,and with us being in the form we are I wouldn't like to see any confidence they have destroyed ,
We have Dom Ball to come back and make a stab at the resurrection of a promising career. A Spurs youngster during a magnificent period in Spurs history so not being selected for first team very understandable.
Stubbs brought him in to develop him because that what Stubbs did at Everton. However when Stubbs left there was no one to develop this still young pro.
Now compare who Warne has brought in on the cheap - no comparison but all need top class coaching - alas we don't have any coaches at the club - particularly for defence - but Ball head and shoulders above in class and football CV.
Alas wages dictate our team not potential !

I posted some thoughts about Dominic Ball on the 'Tumbleweed' thread. In my opinion there is no evidence to suggest that he is any better than we have got, and every reason to think that he isn't an attractive option. He got mixed reviews playing for a dominant Rangers as they beat the likes of Alloa and Cowdenbeath every week. I watched O'Grady bully him for Burton in one of his last games for us, and saw him play 45 minutes as a midfielder against Preston in his penultimate game for us which was painful to watch. At that point I thought it was difficult to see what he offered. He has since failed to nail down a place at League One Peterborough and can't get a game in the Scottish league with Aberdeen ahead of the ageing Arnason. Not a player I have much confidence in I am afraid. Probably better for him and us if he got a permanent move somewhere, although it looks unlikely to be to Aberdeen. If we get a centre-back in it needs to be somebody with enough experience to be a steadying influence, but not so experienced that his legs have gone. A 28 or 29 year old Craig Morgan type.
Your last comment regarding a 28 / 29 year old Morgan - it's the season for miracles so fingers crossed.
As for Dom Ball - his CV - early career shines in comparison to non league nobody's. So he needs a good manager and a run in the team that loves him. Just think the majority of managers would choose him over our two cheap as chips signings - to "develop".
But we have no one to develop anyone at our club!

Craig Morgan was 27/28 when we signed him on a free after Preston (then in League One) released him. We were about to start a League Two season.
Why wouldn't be able to sign someone similar as a League One club?
Three of our managers didn't fancy Dominic Ball enough to make him a regular starter. Peterborough apparently didn't think he was good enough for them and apparently Aberdeen think the same. What makes you think all these clubs and managers haven't tried to work with him?
Lots of players who are youth prospects don't make it. There are lots of reasons why that might be. Ball isn't a kid anymore, and his career is stalling. By the same token I accept some players blossom later than others. If he does have ability then he is young enough to still do it but talent of itself (which by the way I haven't personally seen much evidence of in him) isn't enough of itself. It is up to him to work hard and make it happen.
I suspect we have made the call that we would rather offload him to clear the wage bill a bit than keep paying the wages of a player who hasn't shown much sign of being worth them. On the basis of what I have seen, I wouldn't disagree with that.
