Think Rodak eventually will be a top line keeper but not for us and he's a long way off it at moment. Has my sympathies playing behind whatever changing back four Warne turns out. Don't think there's a decent defender on the books and, worryingly, what we have are predominantly Warne signings !
I would argue that they are all Warne signings. Only Mattock and Wood were here before Warne got the job, but Warne chose to offer them new contracts in the summer when he could have released them, so he effectively re-signed them. On that basis, the weakness of the defensive unit really is a concern when assessing Warne's effectiveness.
O'Donnell did nothing wrong against Shrewsbury and got dropped. Rodak's nerves looked shredded against Wigan but he stayed in.
It does look like an odd selection, but they see them both in training. I think the time had come for him to declare who is the 'number one' and then back him. O'Donnell would have been my choice but I am pleased that at least we (and the defenders) know what is what.
