That could mean only two or three league games, but then he will need time to get match fit again, and recent history suggests that he will get injured again before he actually gets going again.
Lee Frecklington for me has been the most important player we have had during our time at NYS, but the injuries have taken their toll. Sadly I think we always have to plan on the basis that he won't be available and treat it as a bonus when he is. Just when he gets a run of games in a niggling injury takes him out.
I'm sure the poor guy is totally p'd off.
This to me makes signing two midfielders in January a must (hopefully Towell plus one).
This is a real blow as it's not just his footballing ability we miss but his leadership also. Assuming everyone else is available apart from Vaulks, I'd be going with Rodak, ***mings, Wood, Ihiekwe, Mattock, Potter, Towell, Newell, Williams, Taylor and Moore. The Gillingham game is one where we can really take it to the opposition and I think this is about Warne's most attacking line-up?
January is really going to be a critical window for us and will define whether we are promotion contenders or not. Moore is still not out of the question and if we could get Towell plus another box to box midfielder, we'd be well on our way. It's gonna be costly though and we've not got great form when it comes to splashing the cash!
