Darnell Fisher leaves

Joined PNE & FOR A FEE!!! Result! Honestly probably the worst right back I've ever seen in a Millers shirt AND we got money for him.

What now? Sign Frazer Richardson on a years contract (Cheap option), make Vaulks play there or go out & buy a proper Right Back.

Interesting times!!!

Thought this was gonna be a wind up!

Credit where it's due here, we give PD a lot of hammer but this has gotta be a bonus income?

Excellent business for the Millers - they are doing a great job of shaping the team and removing costly / ineffective players.
p.s. just joined here from Millers Mad - why is everyone posting sensible stuff on here - I think it may take some getting used to after the drivel posted over there.

Wow, I honestly thought this would never happen and he'd be a Miller all season and play most games.

Very good business Millers, well done. But equally I hope he has every success, nothing personal in what I feel about him , I hope he turns out to be a great player for Preston. He did have his best game against in a Millers shirt when we played away to them in my oninion, maybe that caught their attention.

Welcome Galant!! I jumped ship from MM site over a year ago, mainly then due to not really being able to use the site properly due to all the pop-ups that drove me Mad... but recently it's just drivel on there. Much better on here, not saying we don't have a moan (last season was full of woe!) but more balanced in the long run I'd say, still plenty of daft stuff though  :) :)

When he first played for us, I thought he had lots of potential as an attacking right back. However, his confidence soon left him after which he was dreadful. He spent more time on his backside than a Greenham Common protester! Unless someone at PNE has seen something I've missed, I think they've wasted their money. I've been really impressed with Emmanuel so far and think we're putting together a good quality defence. Just need a bit more quality to be demonstrated at LB.

I think it was just one of those things in football where a club just doesn't suit a player or visa versa, he'll probable be brilliant at PNE. Always remember Gary Birtles at Forest, scored for fun, went to ManU and did absolutely nothing.
Good luck to the lad.

Good deal for all concerned.

I felt a bit for Fisher last season. He was thrown in at the deep end in a poor side, and his inexperience was cruelly exposed at times where in a better team he might have got away with more. He did have occasional games when he really looked like a very good player.
Forest at home sticks in my mind. Ironically he got sent off near the end but he got a standing ovation because until then he had played a blinder. Having said that he also looked out of his depth at times. By the end of the season his confidence was shot, but to his credit he never hid and he kept going.

I hope it works out for him.

Surely we can look towards a new right back coming in, or at least someone who has experience playing there. If Warne thought that Vaulks was the answer, surely he would have been getting minutes playing there during the pre-season games. We can't rely totally on an inexperienced loanee (albeit he looks promising) who presumably has a recall clause as part of the loan deal.

 brad  i totally agree

i expected more from warne to be honest and not throw in the towel with fisher . unless  things have happened we arent aware off.

so we are now reliant on a loanee who if gives standout performances will be recalled to ipswich.

so we will have vaulks who can play there and maybe richardson no one doubts his effort but is past it now im afraid

so tony time to spend some of the top 5 budget

need a winger with pace and can cross a ball ( jury out on taylor for me)

and attacking midfielder

Best bit of business we have done for years but only if we have a right back lined up to come in. I commented on a previous post about our lack of experience in the right full back position and despite Emmanuels good showing in pre-season I still stand by that assessment. I understand there is a break clause after six months in the loan agreement for both the Ipswich lads and if they are doing well Mick can call them back at that time.
We have to remember that there was disagreement behind the scenes at Ipswich on whether the loan agreement for Emmanual should be sanctioned in the first place. We need experienced cover at right back and I don't mean Richardson, it's time for Tony to get the cheque book out and sanction the purchase of an experienced right back. Yes Vaulks can cover the right back position but has made it clear that he doesn't want to play there and in any case I believe he is valuable in midfield.
The one thing that we must get right this season is the defence and we have made a good start on that but we are still weak in the right back position. Unlike some I have the confidence that Warne will address this issue as a matter of urgency and I trust that Tony will provide him with the means to do so.

Main point I'd make is that if Fisher had not gone, he'd probably have to play him. Now he's gone, no offence, but ANYTHING has to be a good step forward, even Miller Bear...

i must admit fisher had more negative than positives and at 23 was hardly a player for development. at that age you would expect him to sorted his bad points out

he is gone and warne after another right back and tony will have to spend cos anyone on a free isn't probably much use
