Looks like we will finish mid-table or just below if the bookies have it right. 9-1 for promotion isn't big enough to tempt me to put money on. I hope I'll end up regretting that decision!
I think Blackburn will be on most peoples betting slips for promotion,Buying loads of players does not always garuntee success as we all know,i don't think Mowbry will do anything with them and i will give Venky's 12 games before they sack him if results don't come thick and fast.
I think Wigan will be the main front runners early on, all we need to do is stay in touch and you never know if a team spirit is there we all know what that can do.
Wembley anybody?
I think we are showing all the signs of true love here guys... ok, we were in a bit of a bad relationship last year, with us fans on the receiving end of some pretty bad abuse, really bad if I'm honest... and we did our fair share of showing our complaints, I certainly did for sure...
But we are true and loyal, and have only one true love.
So here we are again, I've thrown the ring away (aka cancelled my season ticket) but I'm still here, with new found hope, I'm sure we can turn it around, can't we ??
Here's to the new season

Anyone who harbours any belief that we'll be anywhere near the playoffs/automatic promotion places are sadly deluded. If we end the season mid table I'd be absolutely delighted.
Its just nice not being "nailed on" relegation fodder like we have been for the past few years (and no doubt would have been again this year had we stayed up)!
Starting to miss it now, may even go to Parkgate Saturday, entry and a pint for under a tenner, may even squeeze in a pie for another 50p.
I'm not too sure Ex. I have the feeling (the hope) we may do better than expected.
Virtually every player Warney has gone after, we have got, which is a major change from previous years where we bizzarely told everyone our targets and then watched them sign elsewhere (always thought that a tad odd!).
For me, a good start is essential, get Fordy, Taylor, JCH flying and it could be interesting, get and keep Newell and Freck's fit & healthy, and it could be extremely interesting!

My take on it is that so far we have altered a very poor squad devoid of confidence by losing our two best players (Ward and Adeyemi) and adding David Ball (quality player), a non-league defender with some promise, and three or four others who have a history of being ordinary League 1 footballers.
Neither JCH nor Proctor have any track record of scoring more than a goal every few games. That is ok if there are goalscorers feeding off them (a la Agard off Revell) but we don't have that natural finisher in the squad (yet).
Taylor and Forde were both really poor last season in my opinion. Maybe that division was one too high for them. They have both done ok in League 1 before and hopefully they will again.
The defence was shocking last season and we have the same personnel.
The fact that we have a fitness coach and novice manager in charge is still unnerving for me, however much I like the guy and want him to succeed.
I don't see any reason for optimism apart from blind faith, but it is (as they say) a funny old game and you may be proven right. I really hope so. Getting at least a solid start will be absolutely vital. We need to break the losing habit that we are taking into this season from last. We have so many of the same players that if we get a poor start they might get stuck in the same rut.
