Apparently 62% of clubs voted to keep the PL & Championship academy clubs in the competition despite fierce opposition from the majority of supporters (the suits know best eh?).
Who on this site would attend a RUFC v Norwich U21s at NYS OR any of the games in that competition?
The suits full of **** all have voted to keep the academy sides in the competition despite all the fans opposition. I for one will not go to a single game in the most toxic English Cup competition there has ever been. How the EFL can deem this as a success is totally beyond me. If (as I suspect), RUFC have voted in favour of this idiocy, I hope that they don't make enough money from the home games to pay the ****ing floodlight bill, English football want to be like Germany & we'll have Norwich U21s & the like in L2 before we know it.
When we exit the EU and the FA aren't bound by their stupid laws, they will be able to place more stringent controls over the PL and Champ over how many foreign players they're allowed. Whether they have the balls is another matter, I hope they do as they're busting a gut with getting quality coaches qualified at grassroots. I just hope its part of a bigger plan. Then we can address the black hole of where our 20 year old players go to, but in the interim they have to be seen to be doing something and the CheckATrade Trophy is about it.
