Hardly a shock, but another gamble on the untried. I think, before anyone reserve judgement we should

(a) see what state this season's finances have been following last season's bail out loss
(b) anyone with an ounce of gumption know we need yet another squad overhaul. too many has beens, crocks, wage busting wasters, mentally fragile and I fear many will not even cope with L1.
(c) Warney needs to be judged on his own merits, not this season. Go to a posh restaurant - I'll bet those ingedients didn't come from Aldi

But for goodness sake Warney, now stop it with the cones and warmups - get Hamshaw et al, your coaches doing their jobs, get a fitness coach in. Change the attire, get a suit or 2 and get rid of the perceived best pals to players ethos. As Alex Ferguson said, to be successful you need fear & respect in equal measure.

Oh and good luck - I hope it works out for you

Sheer unadulterated idiocy. He'll be sacked by October. The only upside is that they havent given the buffoon a three year contract. The cheap option & also the wrong option.

The only crumb of comfort I can see in this is Warne brings in some players no-one wants in the summer along with "promising" 17 year old kids from Prem/Championship clubs on season long loans, we start the season as we finish this one, he gets sacked in late September/October while we still have time to salvage the season.
I know I'm negative but I'm already sick to death of this "I'm a nice guy & I love this football club" image & persona. Time for the truth. As has been posted before, he was an OK player that has been looked after by the club being fitness coach to some of the most unfit players I've ever seen, certainly in the last couple of years. His tenure so far has demonstrated that he is useless tactically, cannot motivate, pathetic with his handling with the press.
This is without question the biggest mistake Tony Stewart has made in his time as Chairman & he's made a lot, & I simply cannot except this idiotic appointment. I could say to myself give the guy a chance, he could be OK but I'm 100% certain in my own mind that appointing Warne will turn out to be a disaster that will take years to recover from.

Book your self in for relegation again, absolute clueless. RUFC the joke of the EFL. Dave Artell has more management skills, look what he has achieved in such a small period with Crewe.

I am sorry but this you can't judge him on this season what a load of rubbish, you can judge his tactical decisions, his goalkeepers, his substitutions, his plans for bannan last night etc etc none of them have anything to do with other mangers

In a nut shell, every man jack of us on this board or anyone in the crowd at NYS could have done what Warne(s) has done. Appointed manager because he is Rotherham united through and through. Well anrt we all.

Took the hot seat at 6 points from safety and got relegated at 24pts from safety and now on a 9 games losing streak. Just the credentials we need.

Absolute garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He certainly has an uphill learning task ahead however he has a few more games at the higher level before the new season starts and the real pressure starts.

I'm going to be generous and say I'll start judging from next season as this season was beyond rubbish in every department.

I think Paul Warne is a great man to have around the club, unsure if he is THE man but time will tell.

He's showed no signs of improvement and doesn't even play his best team, e.g. Fisher should even be on the bench.
