Play Blackstock in a front two then Paul and let's see what he can do. We will then know once and for all if he is prepared to earn his money. There is no doubt that he was a decent player at one time, but maybe that was in the past. I sincerely hope that we can get something from him over the next three years. Otherwise he will qualify as Rotherhams most expensive mistake ever.

First thing I would do if I was the new manager coming in is put EVERY player on the transfer list and say to them all, it's not personal, but based on last season (this season) everyone has to earn the right to play and anyone that doesn't put in a shift and demonstrate they have the quality can simply leave.

I'd let any player that gets an offer go, no fee, just take them off the wage bill.

I'd talk to the chairman about paying off players that are under contract that simply aren't good enough - there are a few, and this might be cheaper than paying them a wage for another two seasons to sit at home, we are a ****ing charity at the moment.

Then I'd set about building a complet new squad as soon as the last ball of the season has been kicked, starting with 8 or so players to form a new back 5 , and get a team together very early and start playing a lot of friendlies and 'attack v defence' to build the team and get them used to playing together..

The reason we need a decent manager with a proven record is that you could argue Stubbs tried what I'm suggesting last year (although he waited way too long to build the sqaud, although that might not have been his fault) , but he had neither enough managerial capability or ability to bring in any player of any quality whatseover. I still maintain this is the worst Millers team I can ever remember.
