Come on then lets have YOUR thoughts not The guys fro the Star & Advertiser, YOUR thoughts. They obviously aint listening to Brad, Me, various others.
Ive had enough, lets voice our opinions, they may be agreed or argumented but lets get them out there before we implode !!
My view, either T.S. replaces ALL the staff in the RUFC backroom and employ's a football manager (no disrespect to P.W.) along with a football brain on the board
No manager worth their salt would come at the moment. i agree Warne is not the long term solution, what were you expecting today? A victory?
Brentford should be used as a benchmark. Similar sized club with a similar sized support, difference being they've got a proper manager who has brought in Championship quality players & not spent a fortune & seem to care about their supporters.
The external face of the club ie the ground has hidden exactly what is not right behind it. That has now come to bit us in the bum.
I was more mortified at hearing our championship players train in a gym and have physio etc that are portakabins - than actually struggling in this league. The training ground is their majority place of work - it's understandable we haven't been able to attract the required to be competitve in this league, I think most L2 facilities will be better than that.
TS sold everyone on the new ground, hoping this would be enough, it wasn't and it isn't. Going down makes our much needed and critical internal investment much harder. Expect to be out the Champ for a good long time.
Our resources are nowhere near Brentfords. Nowhere near.
And in turn they are miles behind the top half dozen in the league.
We at not competing on a level playing field and over a 46 game season in the most part there will be a strong correlation between financial clout and league position. Our relative lack of resources caught up with us after a couple of close scrapes, and once we got off to a poor start to the season it was always going to be tough to bring it back.
I'm not happy about it, and I'm not clapping, but that is just the way it is.
With the free fall we're obviously in we could well become Grimsby anyway.
Is not as though there has been much of an improvement, although many would say there has been under 'Warns'. But we're still rock bottom, now 16pts from safety and lose just about every week. Warnes stewardship can hardly be described as an improvement.
After Warnock, I believed TS' pre-season guff, experienced manager, a good budget for said manager to work with etc. I swallowed it all and truly believed the 'Great Escape' had been the watershed of our membership of the Championship, and that the lessons had been learned. I was so optimistic that this season was to be the beginning of a brand new epoch in the clubs history. In a sense it has been…the worst in the clubs history. Record breakingly bad.
What we got was a complete fiasco from before a ball was kicked in anger and the writing was on the wall during the Morecombe debacle. I actually feel betrayed.
As Exeter says the stadium belies the truth behind the facade, that the 'Club' and I mean the playing outfit we all recognise and not the governing business behind the scenes, has made no progress from the ups and downs during the Booth years. We are in effect no better off now than we were at Millmoor, but back then we knew where we stood, accepted it and had no illusions.
After 57 years a Miller I'm embarrassed to support a club that is all fur coat and no knickers.
So saying we have a multi million pound budget and are aiming for the top half is a lie. We were lied to. Stubbs brought some players in yes, but he didn't dump the claimed millions on the squad, so it should have still been there for KJ. We have no money and the club is in turmoil clearly - nothing would surprise me, even administration. PW was a stop gap that became a cheap option to get to the end of the season - TS saying he likes what he sees is correct - he sees less money leaving the account as we aren't paying a real manager. We have a fitness coach manager and a club operating on that footing in the championship is just always going one way. I've loved the championship and feel it might be a while before we play these teams and visit their grounds again.
It's hard but I will try. If you have an inferior product you don't advertise it as inferior, you don't tell the customer it may fail it's not up tp to the standard of similar products. You advertise it as a successful product, whether you are gullible enough to believe it or not is up to you. Some have gone on and on and on about the advertising but understand this, eating certain yogurt won't cure all illness, just purchasing an exercise machine won't loose you 3 stone and give you a six pack and Rufc will never be a mid championship club EVER. If you don't want to see the team struggle against superior funded teams don't go, don't bellyache. Or go enjoy and suck it up. That's it, it's not rocket science but Brad and the whinges can go on about Broken promises blar blar blar but if you ever believed it then more fool you. Me I will be there next home game supporting my team but knowing we are the pinnacle of our success cos it's down hill for a season or two.
Ps keep warne and give him a couple of years to regroup.
It says "first team" below Flikers profile, can one of the mods change that to "chief happy clapper"please?
P S If we do give Warne a couple of seasons to "regroup", we'll be playing Bromley in the 19/20 season, he's as clueless as Stubbs!!!!
Sitting in between the two of you guys, you don't sell people crap, if you do your business will go bust. Realistic expectations is what needed. But yes the guys who are upset expectations way too high, we are predominantly a div 1 club at the moment, championship visits will be fleeting in our current state. I would be getting more upset if we were in danger of dropping to div 2. Warne is not the solution.
