Tony Stewart has spent over £35 million of his own personal wealth on the club

since taking over eight-and-a-half years ago has sparked debate between Millers fans in online forums.

“I have put over £35 million of my personal wealth into Rotherham United in the last eight-and-a-half years and £8 million over the last three years on top of other monies we receive. That's how we get our budget.

“In football you have people with a lot of wealth but they don't spend it. It's not about how much a person who owns a club is worth, it's what they part with.”

Blimey, a lorra lorra lolly. I suspect this may pose more questions than answers and for those who know the ropes perhaps a peep at the clubs accounts lodged with companies house to see how that all pans out.

That just about sums up 'rip off Britain" in a nut shell, you plough £35 mil into a club plus add ons, and guess what, its still not enough, its very hard to respect the world of sport these days, it just seems like every other greedy corporation that bleeds people dry with very little in return.

Tony Stewart has spent over £35 million of his own personal wealth on the club.

The club are not in debt, so we're informed.

Therefore, Tony Stewart must have had some return on his investment.

There's an old saying.

'If you want to become a millionaire, buy a football club when you are a multi-millionaire.

To buy or not to buy into Mr Stewart's sales pitch. That is the question.

I think there ought to be a decent discount for supporters who purchased season tickets for all the time we were down at DVS

right up to the present day at NYS.

I'd like to see a free gift voucher for every season ticket purchased for 2017/2018.

Supporters can then decide to buy or not to buy.

Says nowt really unless we know what on. Also it's about what you can afford to spend and it's all relative. Young guy with mortgage and two kids paying to watch every week has probably a bigger struggle in supporting and funding RUFC than chairman or directors relatively speaking (and the fans make a one way only investment).

Very good points there, New Yorkshire.

English football hits supporters' pockets really hard these days. Look at the excesses in the Premier League alone.

There needs to be a real shake up in English football. There ought to be a cap on players' wages. A cap on transfer fees

and then a cap on admission fees.

If we were to start an online petition and get the required 100,000 signatures it would compel our MPs in  Parliament to debate

the matter. This is a serious issue which needs to be addressed. For many years some of those suits who run football have not

really challenged the festering carbuncle which needs treatment.

There are a lot of overrated and overpaid footballers who have forced clubs to increase the price of admission to lots of games.

Football agents are also in the mix. There ought to be a curb on their activities too.

I wonder if the local press, Rotherham Advertiser or Sheffield Star could run a piece on these issues and see if it has got legs?

The slogan should read....

We want our football back! Bring on the Football Revolution!

Sincerely
