Actually a highly rated player from a possible lge one team like us next year. Plymouth fans not happy he has gone. Give the man a chance. Or better still go and support another team if you have nothing constructive to say . The negativity on this site is sad. Remember how far we have come since DVS . We go down, we rebuild, we move upwards again. Goodbye . UTM
Yeah look how far we have come , so that we can throw it all away without even trying to stay where we got to , same old same old Rotherham , truly lacking any ambition to back up TS very own words of Premiership football , he can't even make us competitive enough for this league never mind the one above !! All talk ,no action or proof that it can ever actually be done , well at least we can go back down to League 2 but not return to Don Valley :)
This team is not even good enough for League 1 , will sound great in New York Stadium with 4500 in ground next season Wow we have come a so far !!
I just love how when someone has the nerve to say something against the club or for what is happening with our club , someone comes along and slates them for saying something !!
Last time I knew when you paid your money to watch your team you wanted to see Value for money ....Can someone tell me that they have had that this season ?
Brad come on this is not like you, I'm as peed of as you are about the situation at the Club, but give the new boys a chance. I defend your right to express any opinion that you wish on this board. But pulling rank on somebody because they have not posted as much as you is a little below the belt. Please don't scare away a relatively new poster. I have always enjoyed your posts on here and I know you are a Miller through and through. So chin up mate being a Miller as always been a bumpy ride.
And you're loving being marooned at the bottom of the Championship with no hope of survival, a joke of a club infrastructure, deluded Chairman, sub standard employees & mushroom fans who are being fed s**t are you Fliker?
If you are going to have a head of recruitment worth poaching from another club, you have to assume that he would have some input before we spend money on a player from the lower leagues. It must follow that we think that Purrington is a good player who already has some league experience under his belt and has potential at his young age to be an even better player. You also have to back the judgment of the people to whom we pay good money to do their job.
This is certainly the type of signing that we haven't had enough of. A young prospect with something to prove. Better that than scraping by season after season with a conveyor belt of players who are no doubt honest professionals and once were very good but who have lost their athleticism, are past their best and arguably have very little left to play for. Defensively alone I am thinking of Richardson, Collins, Buxton, Wilson, Broadfoot, Doyley, Kelly and Halford without trying too hard. Some better than others, but none of them likely to improve as players, gain value, or move us forwards.
Frankly, we obviously can't afford to sign an early or mid twenties year old player of proven Championship quality so this kind of recruitment has to be the way forward.
Of course you need some experience in the mix, but we have had the balance very wrong for too long.
Good luck to Ben Purrington and welcome to the club.
