In pretty desperate cir***stances, our temporary manager is doing a good job! Firstly, he has got more effort and commitment out of the same players that his illustrious predecessors failed miserably with. Secondly, his efforts to strengthen the squad against a backdrop of almost certain relegation and limited funding are admirable. He's fully aware of our defensive frailties and has acted quickly to get in a loan CB and hopefully a permanent LB. He has to juggle loans v permanents as he cannot bring in Championship quality on a full time basis because the club couldn't afford to pay them in League 1. However, his permanent signing is coming up from League 2 so it makes perfect sense to offer him a full time contract.
The loss to Barnsley was disappointing but there wasn't a massive gulf between the bottom club and one on the fringe of the play-offs. With Adeyemi and Newall back against Forest we should be hopeful of getting something from that match. I trust one of the 2 additional loans that he anticipates concluding before the transfer deadline is a RB because that's where the major weakness has been all season.
I'm going for a point at Forest and then push on with the new joiners to keep the pressure on those clubs just above us who are performing as badly, some worse, than us. It's not over yet and there may well be some surprises before the season closes.
Love the sentiment but really I cant see us winning another game this season.
As for Warne much as I love the man I think keeping him as manager till the end of the season is yet another massive mistake by the board. We needed to have a permenant manager in place prior to the Jan transfer window to enable him/her/them to bring in permenant signings to mount a campaign in L1 next season.
No player worth his salt is going to sign when there is a possibility that when we appoint a manager he will be sent to train with the kids.
As for the loan signings again don't see the point, they arn't going to keep us up and wont be with us next season.
This transfer window is looking relatively good. Two young promising permanent defenders and a more experienced loan defender. We've said all season that this is where our key problems are so top marks to Warnie on sorting it. Makes you wonder where we would have been if he'd taken over from Warnock!?

Indeed Glenn, but i think the mastermind behind all of this is our head of recruitment, Mr Johnson.
They are all looking excellent signings, young, hungry and have pace, ones for the future, Purrington especially.
He was part of the plymouth team that kept Liverpool at bay in the first leg, and didn't do too shabby in the replay.
If Willis signs from Coventry, this will look really good for our defence.
All we need to do now is sign Adeyamie on a perm contract, then midfield will look better.

Really disappointed that the Willis deal didn't get over the line. Unless we can get an out of contract RB (shudders at the thought of another Blackstock fiasco), I fear for the amount of opposition chances that are going to be created down our right side. With a dedicated Head of Recruitment in place, how is it possible that we cannot secure the services of a competent RB?
If RUFC cannot agree personal terms with a player from a L1 club who are more skint than us & are on their way to L2, it really is the time to throw in the towel.
Big shout out to the 393 Millers fans at Forest, magnificent support, proper supporters (but you need sectioning & this joke of a Football club doesn't deserve you.).
brad to right listening to the match half the team couldnt be arsed vaulks was asleep
yes we needed the defenders but we also needed a permanent striker. cos yates has the talent but needs to be bulking up stronger. blackstock not going there.
whats annoyed me is wigan have bought bogle for 750K and we put 850k according to grimsby despite warne saying to the contrary as per club policy.
so our relegation rivals are gambling and our club is fiddling while nys burns

Brad, your dead right I need sectioning, I thought about it on the coach returning from Forest last night. I thought why on earth have I just purchased match and coach tickets to go to Bristol on Saturday. I thought maybe it's senility setting in due to my advancing years after all I am 74. Then I thought when I read your post, no Brads right I need sectioning, I must be mad I have been doing this for 68 of my 74 years.
If I tot up all the money I have spent over my working life and the money my Dad spent in the early part of my life
taking me to the Miller's matches home and away, I could be enjoying my retirement in the Bahamas. Your right Brad I am mad I need sectioning. Where's that straight jacket when you need it.
towd codger I salute you for being one of the most loyal supporters the club has. My trouble is, although I love my club & always will, if I think the club officials are wrong & they are however inadvertently taking the p**s out of their paying public, then I react, possibly badly, but it shows that I care.

Warne is definitely doing his best. I don't think anyone blames him for the fact that we are a shambles and I don't think the supporters will turn on him however bad it gets. He is coming out of this as a good guy who loves the club and is doing all he can with both arms tied behind his back. All credit to him. But the very fact that we had to turn to our fitness coach to manage us for (by the look of it) half a season shows just how bad things have become.
