As our two most desperate positions are the fullbacks, I'd go for either Skarz or Brindley.

Alfie - not done anything for a while now. We need to rebuild. He isn't the answer.
Arnie - love him but can't see what the point would be.
Skarz - love him too, but he looked like he was treading water when I saw Oxford at Macc in the cup. Maybe past his best?
Brindley - never cut the mustard first time round.
Agard - Yes please. In a heartbeat.

Let's hope the rumour is right and Arnie is coming back. At last a defender who knows how to defend and maybe his attitude to the game and defending in particular can rub off on some of our other so called defenders. And before anyone on here says he's past it, it's not so long ago that he was playing against the likes of Ronaldo and Co. If he could be one of the stand out players for Sweden at International level, then surely he can hack it in what's left of our Championship season and next season in Division 1. This should be an appointment as a player with a view to a coaching role in the future. My view, if we can pull this one off its a master stroke.

I never understood the relative lack of love for Agard. Players who contributed far less than him were idolised and get rapturous applause on their return to NYS. Agard got a polite smattering of applause, which mirrored the regard he was held in while he was here. We got the lad on a free transfer and sold him for real money at a big profit. While he was here he ran his wotsits off, never moaned about playing out of position, was pretty much injury free, scored a touch shy of a goal every other start (many off the right wing) and scored vital goals at vital times. At times his touch lets him down but his pace, strength and work rate make him a right handful and he has the happy knack of being on the spot to get on the end of bits and pieces in the box. He s an instinctive finisher. Plus he is still only twenty-seven. I guess you could say that he hasn't proven himself in The Championship yet, although he didn't do badly there for Bristol City and in truth chances are we are going to be in L1 next year anyway. Why wouldn't a player with those attributes be welcome back? I just don't get that.

my Dad who has been watching the Millers for over 65 years said this about Agard:

" the most hardworking centre forward I have ever seen in a Millers shirt"

I remember my comments when we signed Agard, Why has Evans signed this bloke on the basis of half a pre-season game against Doncaster Rogers? How wrong I was. Kieran made me eat my words dozens of times over.
I agree with Third Burglars Dad, in my 68 years of watching the Miller's, I can't think of many who worked harder than Agard. I would have him back tomorrow if that was possible. He is a natural goalscorer, and boy could we do with one of those in our current situation.

I really rated him from the off. I was upset when he went.

However, He is not the kind of player in retrospect I want at present.

His evolution here was tremendous and his contribution immense but Ive moved on from that type (not effectiveness) of player.

Agard LG2 looked light
LG1 - bulked up over the close season, and played very well
Then said he wasnt good enough to play in the championship !!!!

Mmm hasnt pulled up any trees since leaving us - so when we go into LG1 next season, he may do alright for us, but worry about his backbone, if things go awry.

Sorry Gazmadmiller, I know he plays for Iceland. I was probably having a senior moment when typing my post.
It happens now and again when you get to my age.
