It has been a glaring weakness all season. No pace at centre back and full backs who don't do the basics well enough = shipping goals. Fisher is inexperienced and he hasn't been able to learn quickly enough in a tough situation. Maybe he just isn't good enough. Mattock has just not looked interested all season, coasts through matches and knocks off too often.

I feel Fisher may have potential.

Fisher I agree got potential, along with Vaulks. Ball as well who we sent out on loan. Now we're left with Wilson as cover whose here on early retirement.

Our full backs unlike last season don't get no help. Last season under Warnock G Ward was an attaching force so it took pressure off on the right. Forde or Taylor aren't or don't cover much. Derbs covered on the left under Warnock, got nobody there now.

Fisher may have potential, I don't know, but the lad has zero confidence at the moment and is woefully short of ability at this level... IMO he either needs loaning out or some time in the reserves, I honestly believe we would get better results playing midfielders or strikers at full back rather than Fisher, Mattock or Kelly...

If Warne and anyone else at the club can't see this full back problem and think we are OK, then they shouldn't be at the club in my opinion .... EVERYONE in the crowd can see it all season.

Please do the right thing RUFC and sell Ward and loan or buy two new fullbacks.  We're heading for league 1 but at least if we fixed this by getting two new guys in during the Jan transfer window, we can start to win some and build some confidence for next year.

Either that or we just hobble towards league 1 with what we have - but even then it's essential in my opinion that we sell Ward and give the manager cash as soon as the season ends to rebuild a new team, starting with two fullbacks, and at least one centre half.

Most decent teams in any division are built on a solid defence. Look no further than the number of goals we have conceded this season to find the problem. Defensively we are not just bad, we are rubbish. Before looking to bring in more midfielders or forwards surely the priority has to be to bring in decent defenders.

I’m sorry for banging on about it but, why why why why why… do we not fix this problem. ??

The Barnsley goal was AGAIN, ****ING AGAIN, the same issues and the same player. It’s not personal, it hurts, it’s OUR club we are watching, and whilst I don’t agree with booing individuals (or cheering when they are injured) we simply MUST drop the guy and play ANYONE WHATSOVER in his place.

Other side isn’t much better and we DESPERATELY need two new full backs, but it just makes me so ****ing angry that Warne, and managers before him, do nothing about it. The player himself must be desperate to be dropped and gain some self confidence, because at the moment he has none. Just watch his reaction after the goal, which I’ve seen many times this season, he’s a beaten man..

… and I don’t buy that there is no-one else, play ANYONE else from the squad/reserves/juniors,/crowd and it cannot possibly be worse, but most of all we need to get two new fullbacks for the next season before we start in League 1.
