What is our problem ??

Just read the article from Warne saying he's disappointed about how close we are to the signing or not of our targets so whats the problem ??

Is it our league position and pre Warne form?

Money ? Mr Chairman has said several times to several managers we have the money for the right player

Facilities ? The well reported training ground facilities

Not learning our lessons ? This is not the first transfere window we have seen a lack of activity

Something deeper within the club ? Have we now built up a reputation rightly or not within football which means players/managers dont want to come ?n

I dont know, many wont. I know we are seeing regularly recycled statements from manager after manager and its beginning to grate just a little crycry

We just don't have the money probably - it's just ******* boring hearing all the talk about targets then we will go and buy the same 35 year old crock.

Naming (or getting the press to) targets
L1/2 wages
L1/2 mentality
bottom of the table & highly likely to stay there
Have I missed anything?

I think our problem is - we need a media officer - one that's prepared to keep shtum when journey's are just trying to fill column inches. Its not in the clubs interest to give that information, its only to serve the media outlets interest and it needs to stop.

We need to work quietly under the radar, even gag agents if we have to, when dealing with said parasites we should make it known we will only deal with those who sign confidentiality agreements. If we get at those two facets in football as a whole, signing fees and wages would naturally reduce.

There's always a more cynical view that advertising your targets means you will never have to buy them

Here's another problem in relation to transfers, I'm told on good authority that Tony Stewart won't sanction any transfers where all of the fee has to be paid upfront. This is allegedly why we lost out on the Bradshaw deal. I have seen a number of posts on message boards blaming Paul Douglas for the shambles in relation to transfers and contracts. Does anybody seriously believe that Paul Douglas or anyone else at the Club has the final say on these matters of course not. The only man who has the final say on anything connected with the Club is Tony Stewart. The technical committee is a sham meant to deflect our attention from the Chairman.

What's it say? Diagouraga didn't want him anyway. What would he have changed? Nearly 30 Ipswich can have with my blessing.

here here brad

lets face the facts the money was well spent on the stadium and some of it wisely on players but a lot was wasted by evans.

but does tony and the deluded board think he is going to get 8k attendance from home fans alone in league 1.

He did last time. If the team start winning they will all come back. Apparently people are happier watching winning L1 than loosing championship.

Our problem is money. But it is only a problem if we have ambitions to be a Championship club. In League 1 we will have a competitive budget. Get up a level and we are having to put sides out every week against clubs with parachute payments, relatively huge crowds and fan bases and foreign owners willing to plough fortunes in. Or in the case of Barnsley, a club that has generated around £15m in transfer revenue. Something we haven't done because we never invested in youth. Tony Stewart will do all he can, and he may make mistakes along the way, but unless we can grow as a club we are bound to struggle in the Championship. Growth I think includes expanding the stadium, getting the retail units off, staying up by the skin of our teeth to secure TV money, and developing the G&C site. Unfortunately it has all stalled a bit. But it won't be the end of the world to go down and re-group.
