After tonight's shambolic performance against the mighty Lincoln, I can't see Mick McCarthy surviving at Ipswich. If he was to be released, should he be considered for the Rotherham job? Assuming Warnie doesn't want the job full time, I wouldn't mind him. Of all the names that are available to take the job, he stands out to me as someone who could instil the workrate in the team that we need to progress. I also think he wouldn't mind coming closer to his home patch.
Certainly wouldn't want the millers to play like that. Looked like a Stubbs team. He is a better manager than that, perhaps he's lost the dressing room at Ipswich. Think Warne will grow into it myself.
Yes, I'd be pleased to have him; but would he be happy to come, or would anyone, come to that. After the comments from Warnock about the behind the scenes situation and then the Kenny Jackett fiasco, surely that would set off a few alarm bells with any prospective manager. All these 'goings on' would put me off. Certainly make me very very wary.
Would I want Mick McArthy as Rotherham Manager? Yes without a shadow of a doubt. Would he take the job? Not a cat in hells chance. Mick is a very astute Barnsley lad and a move from Ipswich to Rotherham would be a backward step for him, rather like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire. And in any event despite the Ipswich fans baying for his blood there is no evidence that the Ipswich Chairman is preparing to sack him.
