The bottom of the Championship makes interesting reading. I reckon the 3 relegation places will be shared out by teams presently in the bottom six. Of those bottom six, over the last 7 league matches:
Bristol - no points.
Forest - 2 points.
Burton - 3 points.
Blackburn - 4 points.
Wigan - 4 points
Rotherham - 9 points.
Extrapolate (ooh missus!) that form out over the remaining games and the final table would look like this:
Rotherham - 43 points
Blackburn - 36 points
Wigan - 34 points
Burton - 34 points
Forest - 33 points
Bristol City - 27 points
I know it's pretty simplistic, but current form is about as good a benchmark as you can get. If I was a supporter of BC, Forest or Burton, I'd be very worried!
The bookies still have us massive odds on for relegation. However, a few more performances like yesterday could see those odds drop significantly.
Time to start checking out train fares to Sunderland for next season!!
im sticking with my assessment after the first several games when I rang praise or grumble-relegation.
However, interesting stats but I certainly think we and burton are down. Burton are playing out of their skins and seem to have been very unlucky not to pick up a few more points . I just think they will run out of steam. Of course there is the twist of the transfer market now the window is open and as usual it may make or break the season for those at the top and bottom. Old big head the second is repeating his Barnsley pattern at Bristol but I d be amazed if they went down. Gotta be Wigan....maybe!
