His own tweeting hasn't done him any favours.

That Halford rarely looked interested might just be down to languid body language and it might have given the wrong impression, but it didn't help him and may have been the reason Evans took the captaincy off him. Or perhaps it became an issue that Evans thought that the captain (who had if I remember rightly been his 'number one target') suddenly wasn't worth a place in the side.

For me he put in far more poor performances than decent ones during his time with us and his obvious lack of pace in my view makes him a bit of a liability in the Championship, where most teams have attacking players with real pace in their ranks to expose such a weakness. Warnock however clearly thinks he can get something out of him again, and I accept that others see something in him that I don't see, because he seems to have his admirers. As we all know football is about opinions, and Halford is someone who seems to divide them.

A quick look at Fulham's goals and near misses against Cardiff on Saturday reveals some fairly static defending. The Cardiff fans who posted afterwards on Mad didn't seem to be impressed. Some of them hope that what they saw might be down to lack of match fitness. They might be right. Good luck to him and them.
