PERSPECTIVE

It's easy to be depressed at RUFC at the moment. However, accepting we are rock bottom and odds on for relegation, there is reason to be content with the transfer window so far. I don't imagine anyone will lament the departure of F-C or Allen. Ball was so lacking in confidence that he was a liability. A lone spell could be just what he needs. Halford was a waste of a good wage and it would appear Cardiff were willing to pay for him - bonus. Izzy was a luxury that a struggling Championship side probably couldn't afford. I'll miss him but he was only ever passing through.

We still have Ward and Camp plus the spine of a useful team in Broadfoot/Wood, Belaid,  Frecks and Adeyemi. We have players who have proved their worth in League 1 in Taylor, Newell and Forde. We've also got homegrown Jerry up front and, for the rest of the season Odemwinge. Acknowledging that we have real problems at full backs which could be addressed this month, we've got the basis of a decent squad which needs to play together and prepare themselves for life in the division below.

I hope Warnie is going to pick his strongest side tomorrow and give us the chance of something to cheer about. A victory and a good 4th round draw will cheer everyone up and hopefully be the precursor to some astute signings before the end of the month.

Onwards and Upwards!

That's fair GM, and of course we have hope... but we don't lack ambition either.

Football wouldn't exist if teams lost the dream of success, so I don't buy Flicker's post at all... try telling Bournmouth Fans, or Wigan in the past, that their town isn't big enough for Premiership Football...

Given enough money (Owner) and a team and luck we have as much right to be in the Championship as many other clubs our size, and dream on we will!!!!! UTM

It is a huge ask for us to compete in the Championship season after season. It looks like we have eventually come up short. We have got a few things wrong, but the club is in good shape and safe hands and we are geared up to do well in League 1 if that is where we end up and maybe do better next time we are up here. I still think back to the DVS days and count our lucky stars.

It's bull**** - Burnley, Bournemouth, Hull, Wigan were all small clubs we regularly played in the past. It's simply a question of money - look at Man City - 3rd tier club not so long ago - now in Champ League every year.
