The cynic in me says give it to Ward as it will add to his value in the January transfer window!. Nice touch by the announcer after the goal yesterday, asking the crowd who they thought had scored! He's definitely an improvement on what was there before. Also good to hear New York, New York at the end of the game. If we win on Thursday, they'll be dancing in the West Stand!

I think it comes down to whether Wards shot is on target. If it is and still finds its way into the net via a deflection its still the original strike of the ball that counts...i think.

Depends who it hit Ian (which is what the debate was about on the pitch), if it was a defender then yes, assuming the shot was on target, its Wards goal. If however, it hit Wood, it doesn't matter if the original shot was on target or not, it's Wood's goal.
At the time, I personally thought by his reaction, It must have struck Wood.

The main thing is that is was a goal and it meant we scored one more than Wigan, which will do very nicely indeed!

Same Thursday evening please :)
