FAO Journos - Player Budget

Can you ask the club outright what the transfer budget will be for the new man. Also, are we going to buy championship players? Are we resigned to L1? Why did Jackett leave? Does TS think he has the right skills to appoint our manager? Has he sought additional investment? If not, why not? Surely he recognises the cost of championship football by now. All this new manager noise is just a smokescreen.

All the journos will have already have asked these questions without a reply from RUFC. TBH which club in their right mind would reveal their transfer budget to the press?? Although a lot of fans, myself included think there's a lot less money in the kitty than Tony would have you believe, & they'll be less still when we start getting 5/6000 gates towards the end of the season.

Ok not the exact number but will the manager be able to buy a number of championship players? Are will the excuse be that we are planning for L1 so we don't need them maybe. __________________

I don't think the loss in gate money is an issue, its the cut in TV money and commercial losses about L1 that's most significant. It's plain to see that the bulk of our squad will be lower half L1 players on bottom end Championship wages, that as well is a worry. __________________ FA Licensed Coach & Referee
