What has Jerry Yates got to do to get a chance in what is possibly THE worst team in Rotherham United's recent history? The guy is promising, scored two goals on his full debut (albeit v Morecambe) & no manager seems willing to risk him in the side. We're all but down now, we can't do any worse so why the hell not???
Why oh why do we do this self destruct time and time again. The money wasted on rookie managers, beat up old has beens and god knows what else. If we'd saved the money buying in rubbish en mass, may be we could invest in a few less but some with a bit of gumption. No good to us in the sick bay
No doubt we will have paid him a high wage in our desperation and he will block us getting a replacement. What a disaster the preseason and transfers have been.

I dont know Towdlad. It just looks such a shame looking in from the outside.
What happend at the end of last season was criminal. There were so many poor decisions off the pitch that I am flabbergasted. To end the season with a solid and very workman like side with confidence only to let so many go without even offers and then not bring anyone in in several key positions to replace them. The quality of choice making and recruitment is nothing short of abysmal. Who on earth made the decisions while we were waiting for NW and the catastrophic arrival of AS.
I dont know who to blame really coz its so bad from top to bottom. To manage a season and a squad in the manner we have seen looks like self destruct.

Agreed ian. Also we seem to have become the "go to" club for thirtysomething players looking for a last decent payday on a stupidly long contract & then pretend to be injured for most of said contract. I wonder if the impending Head of Recruitment will change the club culture at all?

I think you've hit the nail on head there Brad. It is the culture of the club that is wrong and has been since 1981-82.
