I've tried to put the previous era behind me because every time I hear the previous in***bent's name it depresses me. However, his treatment of Wood was more about his own inadequacies rather than RW's. This story also gives an insight into the relationship between manager and player and probably explains why Wood never commented on the games in his weekly piece - many of us thought he had been censored - wouldn't surprise me. On RW himself, I reckon he's had a rough deal his entire time at RUFC and has always had to wait for a chance to prove himself. For some reason managers don't take to him even though to the public he appears to be a good CB. However, it looks like KJ has his measure and that can only be a good thing!

Let's get a grip shall we. Wood may only have been out of the team for a few months but it is long enough for Millers fans to lose all perspective. Jacket has looked around his squad and found an experienced, reliable plodder in RIchard Wood  and put him back in the side.

But we will never get out of the bottom six with Richard Wood in the back four. Don't get me wrong he is okay and seems like a decent bloke but he his not the type of player we should be hanging on to for another year.

Well at least that confirms you know nowt about football. One of the first players on the team sheet for me. Kirk at the side of him and we have a chance. The reason for Wolves coming back was Broadfoot and mattock getting injured and Stubbs not reacting fast enough.

Glad someone's got a grip Heman - an insightful comment demonstrating clear perspective - unlike the comments of other reliable plodders!

He has been one of those players who seems to have been harshly treated and I agree totally that he is a solid CB.

I think if stubbs had built with Woods as one of the central pairing we mught be sat on a couple more points but of course stubbs wanted us to play from the middle of the park and that in the end cost woods his place and stubbs his job.

TTB is right that Wood wouldn't get in a top half side but he's exactly what we need at the moment.
