Paul Hurst has moved from Grimsby to Shrewsbury who prop up League One. They're six points from safety - sound familiar? After a successful spell at Grimsby when he brought them back into the football league and up to 8th in League Two, he will become hot property if he manages to guide Shrewbury to survival this season. Good luck to him. Perhaps his next step on the management ladder will be relieving KJ after the latter takes us to the upper echelons of the Championship over the next 3 years?!!
Or could be a very silly mistake. I would still see Grimbsy Town as a potentially bigger club than Shrewsbury and there is a high probability that the two will be playing each other next season.
on paper and being cautious youd probably stay where you were coz Grimbsy are bigger potentially. However, the 'older one gets' the more one realises potential is like chasing a rainbow-its best to go with what is actually happening. To that end and combined with his own belief and success now is probably a good shout to go to a higher league and if successful he moves up in everyone's mind. He could stay at Grimsby and get labelled as a one club man.
Having lived in Grimsby for a long while, I'm not surprised he's moved the Shrewsbury. Nicer town and nicer area all round. Grimsby are a bigger club though. But given a choice of where to live and work, no contest.
