Can't see a problem with his comments, honest and truthful.

We know where the club is financially, if only in the targets we've supposedly bid £1m+ for but the player has mysteriously gone elsewhere or stayed put. Tony talks the talk, but he & therefore we as a club operate with a L1 budget, whatever big talk Tony comes out with. Redfearns claims are fair and honest.

I think the comments might be factual but I would have to say they are mean and selfish. Does one imagine he would have said this if he had been even a minor success.

I've actually lost all respect for him. Not only did he moan and moan when he has the job but now he's jumped on stubbs complete failure to blame the finance of the club.

To say the club should be honest with managers is really a stab in the back . He took the job , had every opportunity , was well paid and completely failed.

Warnock and Evans did much better in pretty much the same cir***stances.

Would you employ such a turncoat and weak spirited individual?

It is sour grapes and shows the true quality of the person. Not the man I thought he was.

And another thing. Surely he would have been made aware of the budget available to him prior to him accepting the appointment. That being the case, he is out of order to bleat about it now.

If he wasn't told the budget he had to hand, then I would have said he would have had grounds for complaint. But then, who in their right mind would take on a task without knowing the resources needed unless they thought they could do the job.

His failure was in his own hands I'd suggest

Agreed, I would imagine it's right up there 2nd only to their wages what the resources and constraints are to work with within the club. The question then comes down to, are they told what these are but then during the processes of acquiring players are being blocked by the budget controllers? It would suggest that, manager says to PD - pay him 8k a week, PD goes to agent and says we'll pay 6k a week, agent says no thank you - and that's why a massive proportion of our 'targets' fail to be acquired?

coz everyone with out bias can probably easily spot someone who is just milking a wage. Pity that no one has spotted how very average you are yet. Hey ho ! Jobs for the boys.

Its no better than a golden handshake and on to the next vacant throne after you have done ****** all and in all probability made it just that much harder for the actual fans of the club.

such ignorance.

The point he is making is the same point that has been made time and time again on this forum and others in different ways, which is that there seems to be (unless our resources are way more than they appear to be) a gulf between what the chairman expects (and publicly says he expects) in terms of results, and the resources that are made available to the manager to try and get there.

I am not criticising the Chairman for not speculating more. I don't want us to take unnecessary financial risks. Neither do I mind him being ambitious. In his business life he is a success and he clearly doesn't like losing. But you can't expect to finish mid table looking upwards (his phrase) over a 46 game stretch if you have a bottom three budget. That is plainly obvious. You might have good runs a la Warnock over a shorter period, but Neil knew it wasn't sustainable over a full season which in my opinion is probably what made his mind up for him in the Summer. We were over-achieving by finishing fourth bottom.

Where I very much sympathise with Stubbs is that the pre-season noises from the Chairman may have given supporters an unrealistic expectation.

Whether Redfearn was misled in any way only he and the club hierarchy know. I agree that if he was told straight what his budget was and what was expected of him on it and he signed up for it, then he has no right to bleat about it afterwards.

Hopefully Kenny Jacket will be able to square the circle. But what if he can't and we get say six or seven points from his first ten games? Will he have to go too? My fear is that the club is asking managers to perform mission impossible and sacking them when they don't do it, and that is a road to ruin.
