Came back from 3-2 down to beat Norwich 4-3 with two goals in injury time tonight, Saturday should be interesting. They're scoring goals for fun, they got 6 at Loftus Road, & our defence aint as good as either QPR or Norwich's.
They do concede though, so I'm going for 8-2 to Newcastle, but I'd be delighted to be wrong...not holding my breath though.
Wow, this forum's starting to get a rather depressing place to be.............Try and cheer up a tad, three clubs will be relegated this season and it may well be our time, but we knew that before a ball was kicked. This is the Championship, possibly the 5th biggest league in Europe and for at least another 6 or 7 months, we are in it, try and enjoy the teams, the grounds and the inevitable ups & downs it brings.
We have Newcastle at the NYS in a league game on Saturday, how good is that? The Geordies will bring loads of fans who will make the atmosphere electric....yes, of course we should lose on paper but, cheer up and try and look forward to the game, you never know, stranger things have happened!!

Think this is worth remembering - Newcastle at home in the league. If we lose 8-2 at least we will see 10 goals
OMG some people, Dwight Gayle tore us apart at Dagenham & Redbridge, i can see him doing the same Saturday - but i for one am the eternal optimist.
RAFA BENITEZ in the away dugout - how good is that.
Looks like our visit will be a sell out, and we'll be taking 2,500 to the New York Stadium any advice for the travelling hordes? Pubs to visit/avoid?
That aside it's been really hard to get any kind of insight into the rest of the league because Channel 5's show is awful and there seems to be far less coverage than last time we were down. So, that in mind, how've Rotherham been performing this season? I know you're bottom, but is that because the players haven't clicked yet, is it the wrong tactics, come up against bad referees (there's bloody loads in the Championship), or something else?
Which Rotherham players will cause Newcastle the biggest headache? Ward has 5 goals, but have they come from the spot, at the end of a team move, or a piece of individual brilliance?
Has anybody let you down this season? Owner didn't back the manager? Manager didn't strengthen weak areas or persists with faulty tactics? Players not performing?
If you were able to pick the side/tactics, how would you set up against us?
What do you think of our club, our manager, transfer business, season so far and where do you think Newcastle will end up?
Thanks for any replies in advance, I'll be passing them on to other Geordies on Toontastic
If the script goas as with all the other home games, we will score first during a 10 minute spell when we look like a decent side and then we will try and park the bus for the remainder of the game. But once you inevitably breach our defence the floodgates will open and you will win the game at a canter as we fail to adapt our tactics.

Cheers, The Fish
welcome and enjoy the day cos you're coming a long way to to see your team lose. You can take that to the bank as an american president was wont to say.bye for now as I have got to go and lie down,
CH5 is absolutely awful, but the BBC was no better either after MOTD. They should bring back the regional weekly football show on ITV - they knew about your team / history / development (or lack of), not the watered down **** you get from that fat Brighton defender, who must study the book on 'the world's most lamest and general football cliches' (written of course by Steve Claridge).
No word of a lie - you will tonk us big time. Anybody that can score 4 against Norwich and 6 against QPR will tear us a new one. It will also be our pleasure to give you goals from our own mistakes at pertinent points of the game, such as straight after KO or just before half time. Be warned though - if you score too many too early the last 3rd of the game might be utter dull (although it might not as we like to concede plenty of goals here).
The main feature of our play is trying to defend by stepping off, and creating the lines. However the problem here is that your average L1 team can break those lines easily, and your team will pass around us for fun while we go dizzy watching. Dwight Gayle will think he's playing against a bunch of U10s
It will be like a home game for you as you visit the NYS library.
As for your lot, sort out your inconsistencies like Wolves / Huddersfield at home and you'll be fine - this league is split into 3. Those with mega bucks money and parachute payments, those who are established Champ campaigners but don't want to risk the 'investment' in chasing the Prem dream, and then those down the bottom who haven't got 2 brass monkeys to spend.
You'll enjoy your day, make a lot of noise, have some good bants in the pubs in the town centre (which is only a 5 mins walk away).
Just try to laugh at the handful of millers 'fans' who think they're 'well ard' - but please go easy - I don't think most of them are out of college yet!

I think we've all got those. Apparently a few teenagers thought they were tough and were banging on the Norwich fans coach on Wednesday night after the game. Norwich... Not Millwall, or Leeds or Cardiff, but Norwich. That's like starting on a priest.
Think Huddersfield will surprise a few people this season. When I saw their summer business (new manager, backroom staff & players) I picked them as mid-table. Now they're looking odds on for play-offs. You're right about our inconsistency and I think arrogance has a lot to do with that. We beat QPR 6-0 on the road and the players thought we'd just need to turn up against Wolves to get a comfortable result. Add to that the day-trippers to St James' who expect the team to 1970's Brazil their way around the Championship grumbling if we're not winning 3-0 by half time.
Took my 70yr old dad to the Cup game and despite comfortably being in control and winning 2-0 he was appalled that there were still people around me (admittedly in the posh seats) groaning when a debutante's pass went astray.
Hi Fish a pub to visit is The Bridge Inn in town just by the train station. Good food, good ale, good ladlord even though he is a Barnsley fan. Enjoy your day and I hope we can give you a game
Hah! Nah, he'll be dragged round a garden centre by my mam and get home just in time to get the final scores. To be honest if he could avoid it all until his chilli with Match of the Day after the pub he would.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the team was heavily rotated from the Norwich game, dropping Diame for Mitrovic or Perez, maybe giving Lazaar* his first start ahead of Dummett and bringing Mbemba back into the side.
With all that rotation and the arrogance in the squad, the 1st eleven might be complacent. I'd check the odds for a score draw because it's exactly the kind of fixture that we've previously messed up. Certainly in the seasons leading up to our eventual relegation. Which kind of striker are you Centrebacks more comfortable dealing with? The big lad (who's as likely to see red as he is his name on the scoresheet) or the busy but profligate wee man?
*Lazaar is the left back we signed from Palermo, has genuine talent, but needs to get used to English physicality and speed.
Rhinos will let you in and you can sit down if you get there before 1pm and have great cheap food and beer.
On the football.side we have been really awful. Stubbs has brought in about 12 and I think only one of his loanee 's makes it on the pitch at present and that's young izzy brown from Chelski. He is by far and away (see what I did ) our best player. Ward has scored all from open play. We are seriously bad in midfield and hopeless in defence. We have no bite and no cohesiveness. We will tank you 5 or 6 I reckon.
Strikers v defence. If you twisted my arm I'd take the big man but we are weak in all departments at the back.
Could be a draw but honestly , so far this is the worst RUFC team in terms of defence many of us can remember. Itay not be the players but it's certainly been a feature of the managers tactics. We have only had one half were we were as good as the opposition all season. If it goes to form we will be well beat but football doesn't so I've a sneaky and hopeless feeling in my football water ...
I've been to your place a few times and it's impressive but NYS will blow you away.
I remember it well when you came to milloor and who can forget that nigel Johnstone equaliser as it screened into the net form 68 yards...and he was just our centre back. We went up your place and got hammered in the replay but the ref was awful and I got abused by some naughty toon fans . Hoping for more of the same.
