Nonsense. He had a big heart but was a 3rd rate footballer. The Germans, Spain, and Italy would love to play an English team full of Revells at every tournament. They would give us a right drubbing and the sight of 11 headless chickens being outfought, out-passed and outclassed would be inevitable.
Revell was an honest pro and by all accounts a wonderful man, and he gave me my greatest moment as a Millers fan.
However, when a current manager is struggling fans became over sentimental about the past and exaggerate the talents of former players.
Revs was lucky to get one season in the championship. He may run all day (so did Don Page!) but sadly he didn't have the ability to play at championship level. That's why Evans got rid and Cardiff and thats why he plays for Northampton.
