I'm not sure how many times AS has to hear this before he takes note - if you defend too deep in this league and let teams get into threatening positions before being challenged you will get stuffed every time unless you are either lucky or the opposition lacks fire power. Blackburn had scored 6 in 7 games before today but hey, they hadn't yet encountered the footballing charity known as RUFC. After Wednesday's performance when the correct tactics were played, I was confident that AS had learned his lesson but today he has resorted to giving the opposition the freedom of the park with the exact same results as previous attempts whilst using these mind-boggling tactics. I'm afraid the statements 'Do it my way' and my teams 'are hard to beat and don't give an awful lot away' have a hollow ring to them and life is going to get very tense if he persists on Stubbornly sticking to these disastrous principles. A similar performance against Cardiff on Saturday will put enormous pressure on TS to do something radical and the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised and would understand totally! And finally, to say after today's game that the blame lies with 'players not doing what they're supposed to do' beggars belief and sounds like the same desperate rhetoric which Redfearn engaged in - look where that got him!
I've said similar on other threads so I'll just add something about his personality.
When the interviewer asks very candidly -makes a statement actually -telling stubbs the bleeding obvious about defending too deep, stubbs responds by saying NO. Of course, he eventually agrees with the interviewers point.
My point.
He is a very myopic thinker.-black and white. It does not bode well. Sometimes , people like TS ate attracted to rigid thinkers who have an appearance of confidence. He has a track record. Can't see this ending well but I do see a huge possibility of it ending
