This is a funny division. Bristol City blew a three goal lead last night making out two goal throw away look not so bad. Burton got a point after having less than 30% possession. QPR let six in at home after a decent start to the season. Barnsley put four past someone else. Wigan were the promoted team that people fancied to do well but they've had a tough start. Huddersfield are flying. Blackburn and Cardiff look like the big clubs that might be this years Bolton/Charlton. Derby can't keep losing can they? As for the Mighty Millers, despite lots of doom and gloom we have some points on the board despite a bit of turmoil. Whether we win lose or draw tonight lets get behind the team and the manager. We have seen how fortunes can change very quickly from week to week and even within individual matches. Looking at the topsy turvy stuff going on around us maybe we can take advantage, get the new players to gel and find a spot higher up the table to settle in to.
We absolutely can, but not on the evidence of what we've seen - and some things need to be changed, other things need to be tried. I think the bottom line and crunch watershed moment is - is AS not stubborn (see what I did there) enough to break his own belief system, is he prepared to adapt and therefore let his team adapt? The evidence suggests not up to this point, and that's why most people are worried about him.
There were some results last night, but really are we surprised at the Toon knocking 6 passed QPR, and after seeing that Barnsley are a pretty tidy side - even for this league, are we surprised they put 4, albeit late goals past Wolves who look totally dull. Cardiff continue to be poisoned by their owner and Blackburn have struggled every year so far on and off the field. Derby is a surprise so far, but they have the resources to make the needed decisions to turn it around
We are rubbish, tonight's defeat will rubber stamp that i'm afraid & I can't see Stubbs tactics changing. A full expectant away end will leave happy & this forum will be holding what will be the post match inquest.
Tony made a cataclysmic b***sup appointing the guy in the first place & even more of one giving him a THREE year contract, his tactics are dire, along with his recruitment & interviews, but TS knows best eh?
this league has always been the most of unpredictable s but the cream does rise to the top.
The issue here is not so much how well or badly others are doing, but what we ourselves are doing.
we wont be judged on others results but only our own.
so, until we start winning and stop these bizarre defensive displays -forced or planned-then, paradoxically, Im still concerned enough to let the rallying call go unheeded as I dont want to be cut down by those Russian guns.

we need a win in the next two games, i wonder on AS Appointment i think i read something about AS Winning 48 out of 100 games as a manager, did NW Give TS the nod on trying to get AS as manager or was it the stats they looked at ???
we cant continue 1 up front and a flick on to empty space we will be walked over every game
very much strange results across the league this year NUFC Look set at the top as expected
a toss of a coin after that are run of two losses or two wins can change the whole look of the league
getting our 4 points dropped with bristol and wolves put us mid table.
Sorry Smiler but can see very little cause for optimism at the moment and have to agree with Brad the Miller and predict a defeat tonight. Of course I hope I'm wrong and I often am.

No need to apologise Axholme. As I have mentioned on another thread, I go into every game thinking we are going to win. Maybe a case of hope triumphing over reality. Because that is always my mind set I too am often wrong and often disappointed! I wont get too giddy if we win and I wont be suicidal if we don't. After where we have been recently I still thank God (and Tony) that we have a team to watch and support, and the fact that we can do it in such a fantastic arena in such a good class league really is the icing on the cake.
