"I can understand the frustration of the fans after the game, but there has to be some realism.
"The Championship has become an even harder league and it is harder to compete, you are fighting an uphill battle.
"When you look at the bigger picture this could be a valuable point. We were playing a good team who have spent this summer.
"We had chances to make it three and that's the difference. At 3-0 you go on to win the game."
More post match Stubbs rhetoric, doesn't sound promising to me. I must admit you'd have to go some to be even more defensive minded than Redfearn, but Stubbs has actually managed it. Not looking forward to Assombalonga filling his boots on Wednesday.
Also said he was realising how hard the Championship is.............. Begs the question was he the right man for the job. I cant believe the appointment after Warnock showed that what we needed was someone who knows the Championship, who can put the wedge in and start to get a bit of stability. I feel for Stubbs, I really do, as I felt for Redfearn but for goodness sake we are in our 3rd season in the Championship and still making the same mistakes
TBH we're the luckiest side on earth to have five points from our first six games. We've been hammered in all three away games & if fans are honest, Wolves, Brentford & now Bristol City SHOULD have beaten us, so we could have been on zero points.
I really want to find positives about Stubbs' tenure so far but I really can't find any. The way he sets his sides up (for a 0-0 & hopefully nick a goal), the complete absence of a plan B especially when we concede, the absolute debacle of a summer transfer window, the frankly weak summer signings, it's gonna be a very long season.
The disappointing thing is that the way Stubbs sets the team up is designed to give us numbers in midfield to enable us to pass and have plenty of the ball. Not enough of them are showing the guts to want and have the ball and there isn't enough movement. We can't keep conceding possession and defending deep and expect to keep picking up points. It needs changing - either the shape of the team, or getting some confidence in the team (going 2-0 up should instill that), or the personnel. This needs saying though - we are still only 6 games into the league season and it is just ridiculous to be booing and calling for the manager to be fired. Whether all clubs supporters are like ours in these days of everyone demanding instant success I don't know but it stinks.

Sorry I disagree on this occasion when a manager is playing a RB at LB who clearly can't play there when we have a LB who is a good player as seen last season and playing Wilson when Wood is far better as seen last season and that's just touching on the mistakes.
Until the present team apart from a certain few start to show the yorkshire grit and pride to go down fighting we will struggle. Kelly prime example no leadership, no encouregment when it gets tough and he his captain for the day. When Frecks isnt playing we need a strong leader Kelly is not that man
Mattock was desperately poor when he played early on this season. I don't know why because he was alright last year. Most people involved in football say a manager needs minimum of half a season maybe a full season to make his mark. We've given the guy a three year deal because we want some stability. We had three managers last year. We can't keep turning managers and players over like we have been. He has had six games for goodness sake. We haven't been good but we have scraped a few points together so it isn't disastrous. He needs time to improve things. Six games is no time at all.
Our two goals were as bad/fortunate as one can get in a football game. Bristol dominated and applied tactics and application commensurate with a football game where tactics are meant to win games and playing to ones advantages is normal.
We, on the other hand were at home, incredinly defensive and never did anything to justify a goal. If we did ,then Bristol should have had several.
I couldnt help but contrast the last 20 minutes with a team under warnock. Changes in both tactics and personal would have flowed very quickly and almost every time bar one that I can remember it made a huge change. Stubbs, on the other hand sat and did what?
Maybe the thing that has us all somewhat beguiled is that its hard to believe he is quite this bad. I must admit to at times thinking I can see something thats a sign of a strong competent team, but, the reality is I think its just wishful thinking.

you have a soft and good heart Towdlad but if he said that then someone needs putting out to pasture.
Ye he got off to a bad start so have most of Stubbs signings, no reason he can't quickly get back last seasons form and bad as he was it's nowhere as bad as Kelly is because he is clearly not a LB and Stubbs is making himself look a clown and that's stackable for me if he doesn't address the obvious issues fast. He won't address the issues because he's totally out of his depth, that's the way everything is pointing.
The way he sets his sides up (for a 0-0 & hopefully nick a goal)
The difference being, Warnock knew how to do that and got the best out of what he had. Are we really getting the best out of what we have, and seriously have we since the 1st half of Wolves even look like competing?
do you know what, I have a funny feeling in my water TS will sack him very soon if it doesnt improve.
Im sorry to say, it might be projection on my part.
The wirtings there isnt it?
not only are we seriously dire, and stubbs is already showing signs of crumbling in his interviews, but when the Rotherham fans drop off so quickly, ive learnt to respect that as a sign that all is not well and its a very silly and stubborn chairman that goes against the footfall. After all, TS knows very little about football...compared to several thousand of the fans (no sarcasm intended)...hes not a natural football man is all im saying.

We are in the entertainment business & so far, whilst we haven't been beaten (in the league) at NYS so far, the fayre dished up so far is a long way short of entertainment (apart from the first 30mins v Wolves).
Another 2 goal lead chucked away, the 4 points dropped put us in a better position
god knows what system we are playing, at times it seems 11 chasing the ball in a pack
hit and hope we can grab a goal
watching other teams they distribute the ball so fast compared to us
we get the ball to a defender he looks up and thats it stuck where to pass the ball
Danny runs his socks off heads the ball on a lot
we need someone up front to chest it hold the ball up giving time for others to push forward pass too
Stubbs as said by many whats going on
i have no association feeling with him other managers good or bad show passion on the sidelines, its like Stubbs who's HE.
That chance we score 3 up and its over (hopefully)
highlight today sat next to the away dug out - boy did the Bristol Bench give the officials some xxx rated stuff.
