As mentioned on other threads (and old forums) seems that we are making significant waves to sign him. Also found this on Twitter..

Would he be a good fit? Seems rather like Best.. Who went to Ipswich because AS wasn't interested.

did well to get back from the injury.

getting on now and he was quite a mobile nimble guy for his size

good in the air-good
a box player-good (is this the kind that fits stubbs though-no)
instinct striker-good as may balance out the ageing

RUFC need someone-good.

dont forget yates please-he looks hungry and ready for a decent chance to me.

We definitely need the option of that sort of player. His recent goal scoring record at 4 in 28 appearances last season doesn't look great but the stats can be deceptive. A fair number of those appearances were as sub and quite a few of those were for literally a couple of minutes. He started against us at the NYS and I thought he led the line for them really well. Good hold up and link up player and given a run of games will get a few goals. Quite tall but mobile. At age 30 (a month younger than Derbyshire Ian) he won't be someone we can sell on for a fee but he may get the job done short term. If we can sign Blackstock for no fee and reasonable wages I think he would be a fair shout. By the way, on Leon Best and Matt Derbyshire I don't think it's necessarily right that AS didn't rate them. We don't know what happened there. Maybe Warnock didn't rate them - didn't he have a big say in who we tried to re-sign and perhaps how hard we should try? It may be that we didn't rate them as much as they rated themselves or as much as their agents rated them. These things sometimes get spun.  I personally wouldn't have pushed the boat out very far if at all to keep either of them, but we don't really know what happened between them and the club do we?
