We lost our 4th game of the season 1-3 at home to Fulham bringing our points tally to a massive one! Today's line up at Barnsley will be 100% different to this time last year - unless Halford, Smallwood or Newell start. White, who came on for us at half time, could feature for Barnsley as could old boy Hamill. Let's hope neither repeat Pringle's antics of last year by scoring against his old club. Whatever happens today, we will be in a superior position to 12 months ago and I have far more confidence in our current bunch of players and the management than previously. A sneaky 1 or 3 points today will do us very nicely! Onwards and upwards.
It's heating up is this game. Perhaps there is a growing awareness of the similarities of the club's. Not only are we geographically close we are also of like mind politically and our economies roughly the same. Football wise they are historically better and slightly bigger but not by too much and given we haven't played them too much it is quite a unique fixture this time around.
RUFC have really grown under Tony 's tutelage and we have been here for 3 seasons now. Barnsley had a dip but unexpectedly get promoted after an amazing end to the season.
Once again , despite Steve Evans being nowhere near the team we have had a massive influx of players. We aren't quite sure how we are going to do but Barnsley fans are very confident.
