Next Week's Line-Up

Assuming no-one else comes in before next Saturday, which is increasingly likely, what will the line up be? I'd go with:

                   Camp

Mattock  Broadfoot   Wood    Kelly

              Smallwood

Frecklington            Forster-Caskey

                Vaulks

     Halford            Ward

Bench: Me & Towdlad

I've heard Towdlad's got a groin strain so might not make it!

You all might be laughin' but stranger things have happened, but back in the day I could show one or two a clean pair of heels. And my dribbling was renown.... you can tell from the front of my lucky shorts. wink

Actually they were just that, an old pair of flannels 'cut off'. Mines'thi we used to have to wear an old pullover with the neck sewn up and the arms cut off

Now that's hardcore. ..but back to the lineup.  I'm not a fan of Halford up front and so I might drop him back into deeper role and swap him for vaulks...but,  I'm tempted to go with our starlet and leave out smallwood.

Nine of GlennMillers team were Warnock heroes and I think Vaulks and Forster-Caskey will strengthen that team so other than the fear of injuries, I'm not sure why some are getting a bit mardy. And Towdlad looks younger than Rodney Fern in 1980 so he'll be alreight on t'bench.

You make a good point Trevor about the bulk of the team from late last season still being here. Forster-Caskey and Vaulks both look like quality additions. Forde - he hasn't impressed yet but it's early days. Newell will make a big difference when fit and I still have hopes for Belaid who I thought was pretty impressive. We all know we need a couple of strikers and two or three other additions, but if we can make them decent quality additions then we have a real chance of being competitive. For the Wolves game we really don't have a lot of choice do we? I wouldn't play Halford up front. In fact I wouldn't play him at all. I appreciate the job he did at the end of last season but I just think he is mobile enough or good enough on the ball to be at the heart of things. I would give Yates his chance up front with Ward and would go with Freclington, Vaulks,Smallwood and F-C across midfield. It is a narrow midfield but it might be the best we have available for now.

Don't be suprised to see Yates starting if we don't bring a striker in before the start of the season,Who knows he might just suprise a few people.

Come on keep positive fellow Millers!

Without knowing much of Towdlad's footballing capabilities I can't decide if I'm predicting that he'll get an hour and then give way for one of the kids, or that we will bring him on with 20 to go as a high energy, big trousered, mustachioed impact player. We could try and pass him off as a European import and go for Towdladdio. Watch for the press articles now saying that we are in talks with Towdladdio to join on a free with wages of 4 and 6 a week, plus unlimited access to Magnet.

NY - you should know better than to air our potential signings in public before the deal is done. SWFC have already made a counter-bid but are concerned by the lack of reliable info and video footage on Wikipedia!!

Now then NewYorkshire, you naughty man. The unlimited supply of Magnet is all you will need to witness my blistering fire power from outside the penalty area.
P.S can you still get magnet?
