Who would want to come

To NYS when they could get more money, better training facilities and a run at the top 6 With nearly every other championship team. Let's be honest we can only afford the players no one else wants in this division, the cast offs the hasbeens and the injury prone who we can cross our fingers for. If we compete against another championship team for a player then he's not coming here. Forget the top half we are looking once again for three teams worse than us. We now have 11 players perhaps 2-3 of these may get in an average championship team and you can't see us buying 4-5 quality players in fact you can't see us buying two quality players. We don't have the 2-3 million require and that's what it would take. Teams like Bristol will push on, Preston have but we are unable to push any further with players, stadium expansio, sponsorshi etc. We have now reached our summit. Time to slide back down I feel.

And there's me thinking I was negative. A lot of what you say is right though, it's up to Stubbs, TS, & the lads to prove us wrong though.

Bloody hell, give poor old Stubby a chance will yer. The way clubs like Rotherham push on is not by signing super stars for mega money, it's by identifying the right kind of player to fit in to our team ethic. It's about creating team spirit and a collective goal. We wont have superstars but we will have decent players who will play for each other and the club and that spirit will be worth points next season - ask the Wimbledon of old. Keep the faith boys.

That's why Redfearn (remember him?) and Stubbs are emphasizing youth development. Find a rising star and cash in. Whilst doing that sign useful journeymen to keep the club afloat.

We will continue to defy the experts.

As grim as it sounds its better us scraping 45 points in the Champ than getting 70 in League 1. As long as the infrastructure is being upgraded and we keep getting those 45 points things will turn eventually. In the meantime we need to be realistic, remember what we're up against and keep trying to fight the fight. All we need is a good coach with players willing to go hell at it - Warnock is testament to that. Like the last 2 years, 1 or 2 teams will implode and as long as that's not us it cuts down the probability of us going down. As long as we all pull in the same direction support the players to the end we'll be alright

I don't think you have to adopt a North Korean attitude of no dissent to be a 'true' supporter - it's perfectly reasonable to have this debate on here outside of the season, or in it for that matter. We need to grow the fan base and attract people back from our neighbours, we only do that by having a better option - it's entertainment after all. Or should we just keep the limit at the 'DVS Diehards' and let just 1500 in? We also have a confusing chairman who keeps talking of our premiership ambitions - maybe he should scale that back and manage expectations better?
