Astounding stats - population the size of Leicester, 50K males of a footballing age which gives them a 1 in 2000 chance of getting in the international squad! Arnie doing OK up to half time but interesting that they don't use his long throw. Usual commentators love affair with Ronaldo gets my goat!

Brilliant performance Iceland. Arneson man of the second half. We even got a couple of mentions but not in particularly glowing terms. On that performance, Ronaldo wouldn't get in Rotherham's squad. Well done Arnie!!

Yes Arnie had a good game overall. Ronaldo was having one of his many sulky days

A good result for the icemen

A great underdog performance. They beat Holland home and away in qualifying so its no fluke. Arnason certainly played his part. Ronaldo was as graceless as ever, accusing Iceland of having a 'small mentality' , having a 'lucky night' and just getting everyone behind the ball. He should concentrate a bit more on the fact that he did rod all of any use for 90 minutes and might learn something about teamwork from their display. When a team from a nation with a population similar to his home island Madiera (a) qualifies at all and (b) gets a point off the group favourites a bit of humility and credit might have been in order.

I thought Iceland looked dangerous. They are a decent team. Portugal were the ones I found boring and predictable
