One nil up and the mentality is defend, defend, defend.
Vardy doesn't get a look in, Sterling continues to run down blind alleys and Manager Roy fiddles about with the whole line up to shoe horn Rooney into the side.
We would have been disappointed to concede that goal in an average game at NYS.
Unfortunate to lose but Russia were very poor. Hodgson's inability to play Kane in the correct position and not to replace him and Sterling early is a worry. Against better sides are defence is going to struggle.
Good to see TTB back from his self imposed last ever post on this site and that he hates England almost as much as he hates RUFC!!
Russia were there for the taking. Watch France there midfield is world class, we've got no one of that ilk.
But our midfield isn't far behind if Roy boy picks his best 3. Would say Dier, Ali & Wilkshire. Henderson to come in so Ali & Wilkshire can push forward. Fulll backs will have to be our width. Kane & Vardy up front. Stones in for Cahill. That would be our best side.

The match shouldn't even have taken place.
Boot England out now and deport and jail the pot-bellied, louts who support them!
I'm assuming from the ROI comments above that TTB is a James McLean lover. The man who turns his back on the national anthem but will gladly ply his trade in this country and spend money with the Queens head on.
I admire James Maclean and he has every right to his opinion. He has actually thought about the scandalous foreign policy of our government and made a very good protest against the senseless, unjust and illegal wars that the UK initiated.
And if we were a democratic country, we would respect his right to do so.
If you don't believe he has a right to those opinions then the soldiers who died in WW1 and WW2, died in vain.
James Maclean actually had no problem with honouring the soldiers who died in those two wars.
I suspect the truth is that media coverage have shown the England fans in a more negative light than they deserve because that makes a better story.
Not defending them though because there are many knobheads that follow England, but maybe, just maybe they are taking flak out of proportion to their actions. Hard to stay calm if you're being bombarded with bottles.
