Sorry to repeat myself but this is another shot in the dark. No relevant experience. Why oh why does TS do this?

The one thing I can see about this is that if he came he would be really motivated because he'd be better off staying at hibs in terms of his career; Big club in that league and destined for promotion sooner or later. His stock goes up and he can then think about his next move more.

If he comes here he must really believe in us and himself because on paper it looks like a big risk.

Agree Ian, so much for the tried and tested championship manager with experience of the league. It's another fingers crossed and we have to hope. Here we go again.

No disrespect to Stubbs, but it does fly in the face of what TS said he was looking for. I wonder if NW has had a work in TS's shell like and suggested a name or two, but I did read he was second choice last time behind Redfearn, so what has he got now that he didn't have then.

Tried and tested championship managers have invariably failed. We need an up and coming manager. Stubbs will do for me.

A 2nd failed season in the Scottish championship and a cup win against Rangers.

The benefit of not being chosen the first time around.

So - TS meant the next guy will be from the Scottish Championship. I'm less than impressed with this choice, can't see him lasting until Christmas. We were all led to believe the new guy would be experienced in England!

The only real tried and tested Championship manager we have had is Warnock; and having that experience saved us.

Of course if it is Stubbs I'll give him my full support but why do I feel a little underwhelmed?

Its a little worrying as time is ticking and we may miss out on players and valuable preporation time.

I think the problem is with TS. He talks things up and we all get excited and then we get something else. Something other than what he said.

We've had two relegation battles and we're all getting a bit edgy about things. TS talks up the new /prospective manager and we all think 'Great we're moving forward'. Then we hear its not what he told us it was going to be, but something else. A bit like the annual, 'we want to extend the stadium' routine, a big debate and nothing happens.

So if we are not to have the things he speaks of, then why say it in the first place. With regards the new manager I think it does him a disservice even before he's started.

I could be that Stubbs is the man we need to move us forward, I hope so. Onwards and upwards.

Imagine hes your dad and he tells you youre getting a XBOX one and come Christmas morning hes got you a ZX spectrum because you will learn more from it and he can spot the talent in you.

If we get Stubbs, fine, we can support him and hope it works.

I think the more liklely outcome is that when Stubbs finds out what he will get paid, and even more so what he (doesn't) have in terms of player Budget, he will instead go back to Hibs and manage them. I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm right it will be another strange and misguided move from the club..

if he turns us down then i am afraid it goes to show that despite all the sound bites they are trying to do it on the cheap

Money wise I dont think there is a comparison between us an d Hibs. However, on the player budget side there is a massive shortfall and he would have to be very confident in his ability to take us on considering he will get another season with Hibs in what should be a relatively easy task to get them out of that division.

stay and his stock probably goes up
come here and he has a risk of being sacked.

However, if he has a great season with us he can get a job he would not have got even if he takes hibs up
