Awful. Evans' squeaky voice already annoying, Le Blanc - seriously you couldn't find an appropriate UK co-presenter? Found it so cringe worthy turned it off after 25 minutes
Proves the show WAS Clarkson, May & Hammond and nobody can argue against that - it doesn't matter that their show will be a completely different format - it will still make motoring interesting to even the non petrol heads like me (most viewers?)
Wasn't a Top Gear fan, hated Clarkson with his two side kicks but it was popular. I guess the format evolved with the presenters, so new presenters will always struggle until the new programme gels.
I used to enjoy it when old Quentin was the presenter, but with Clarkson and Co it became less about motoring and more about high jinks with cars, more about over grown 6th formers having a huge jolly at someone else's expense. A big mistake to try to replicate it. I didnt bother to watch the new show.
I hated Top Gear with Clarkson et al, and given that the beeb seem to have basically tried to pitch the new version at the same level I think I will hate the new incarnation of the show just as much. (Perhaps not quite as much because I can't imagine anyone more charmless than Clarkson). I shan't be watching it but then I couldn't watch the last lot either.
It was dreadful, a poor attempt to mimic the old show and the 'banter' was so contrived. The U.K. Vs USA challenge was pointless and basically told us zero about the vehicles they used, other than they were 'classics'. Evans is a massive sycophant who will use the show for self promotion and revitalising his pals' careers. Why can't car shows devote some of the time to reviewing cars? Particularly ones that the viewers might buy (with a few superclass thrown in now and again). I was never a fan of Clarkson but at least he had his own style (!) - this looks lame and the American is so out of place. Awful.
I've only watched a bit of it, can't bring myself to watch the rest yet, Evans trying to be Clarkson was doing mi nut in. I loved the old show. Clarkson is good at what he does as are the other two, they all make some great programs and you can see the genuine passion, they don't try to be anyone else. Yes Clarkson is a tit but so are a lot of other entertainers and I don't let that get in the way if I enjoy their work.
Apparently Evans is saying that the viewing figures are irrelevant because we all just record it or watch it on iPlayer. Like you couldn't record it when Clarkson was doing the programme...
