I am saddened that we couldn't manage to persuade Neil to give us one last season & I thank him, Kevin Blackwell & Ronnie Jepson for their considerable efforts in keeping us in the Championship, but what's done is done & we have to move on. Tony's next appointment has to be right so we wait in hope.

Not the end of the world.

He came in to do a short term job and got it done. We got there in the main by setting up very defensively and grinding out results. We had a bit of luck along the way and he got the best out of a limited group of players. He was always honest about that himself. Fantastic - no complaints at all. In fact he leaves as a hero. But to me it didn't necessarily mean that he was the right man to take us into next season on the basis that it would probably be his last. If we have to make that change next summer anyway why not make it now and put the rebuilding job in the hands of someone who might be around a bit longer.

Onwards and upwards.

I didn't expect that to be honest, but as Smiler says, he came to do a job and he did it with room to spare. The hunt for a new boss begins and I'm glad I'm not in TS' shoes, or maybe NW may well have put a couple of names in the hat to think about. A bit sad but the future starts here as they say. Thanks for everything

Mixed feelings. It would have been good had he decided to stay but it was obvious he didn't fancy it and was waiting for something better to come along. It sounds like TS made him a very serious offer money wise but who knows. Probably for the best he goes rather than taking the job and regretting it.

Onwards and upwards.

Probably a shame - but an understandable one. Whether that be the distance or the desire to take on one last promotion season somewhere else. We know what we need, but I hope that bookies list is way off the mark as all of them would not be a step in the right direction, and SE 3/1 fave is utterly laughable

here are all my no's
evans
cotterill
grey
any of the ex forest managers
mclaren

but whats annoyed me most are the reports he has shook on the deal and then changed his mind. if he wasnt sure why agree
he did his job but if he returns in the away dug out then he will get the same flak as evans did from me.

the past is the past here is to the future and hopefully tony will give the new guy a decent budget for QUALITY PLAYERS

Difficult one, but if he did shake on it then I agree, especially with all his talk about a "Yorkshire man's word is sacrosanct"

Like you siad, I can just about nod if he choose to walk away due to personal reasons but if he takes another job then I will judge him on that like anyone else given his declarations throughout his period with us.

Other than that I wish him happiness and success like anyone else.

I'd give him a cheer if he comes back, why not, he's the reason we are playing in the championship next year and not league 1. One last season and a poorly wife in the south means I'll cut him some slack - we need someone looking at us as more than a one season project.

Not surprised but very angry our season was over two weeks ago we were promised a decision before now. He was sat waiting for a bigger club no issue with that but why waste a week in the biggest closed season for the millers in many years. Now a new manager has to be found players assessed meanwhile deals are been done and we will lose out. Warnock should have been honest and left after Blackburn game now we are left in a mess
