I posted a somewhat tongue in cheek set of stats a few weeks ago that declare NW was the best manager we have ever had. And although it was ironic I believed it then and I believe it now.
When Campy says that what NW and the team have achieved is the best achievement he can remember and that Frecks says it is the best dressing room he has experienced than something unique has constellated around NW in alignment with RUFC.
NW, we need him here next season. He is realistic and a superb fit for RUFC in this division. In his post wolves interview he alluded to other clubs coming in for him and seemed today to be slightly edging out of the door. However, he also has a twinkle in his eyes at the mention of the challenge here next season. He responded to the idea that he isnt afraid of the challenge here but others are interested in him and the club needs to do something to convince him that his legacy wont be for nothing. And there lies the bargaining chip TS.
I totally trust and am in awe of the amount of energy, desire and Belief that TS has put into the club and I wouldnt have it any other way. But, I want to believe that the club will go all out to convince Neil Warnock that this challenge is his legacy for years to come. That his legacy will be intact and not squandered in the same way as TS protects his hard work and dream.
NW, has gone on about the training ground again and again and maybe, just maybe, TS has been a little guilty of taking his eye of this one aspect...I dont know and I dont mean it as a criticism but no one is perfect. It is clearly very important to NW and he wouldnt identify it as strongly as he has if it wasnt a real fly in the ointment to sustained progress and as NW says it is vitally important in attracting players-and he should know. Interesting point is that the club hasnt made it a priority and no one has been able to convince TS or had the awareness to convince TS of its importance.
I will be upset if NW isnt here next year. He is like the best armchair in your favourite room. He is comfortable, you look forward to relaxing and love being entertained in it. The chair can easily handle a cup of tea and a plate of snacks and it is adaptable to any position you wish to be in. If its not there the next time you walk in then you would suddenly be disoriented as to whether this was the right house at all. No dubt that you would spend months aimlessly searching on line and in stores to find a replacement and when you had chosen one out of necessity there would be that horrible period where you really cant tell if its going to work for you or not...what a thing to have to endure.
so, I hope he stays and the idea of RUFC for another year is the very best and most fitting challenge that he simply cannot walk away from. I also hope that TS makes it impossible for him to do so. NW is obviously a real gentleman. He is honest and straight forward and loves to be loved and in turn he loves to give albeit with that obvious Yorkshire humbleness that sometimes is communicated via gruffness, sarcasm, and passion while a tear is not far away.
RUFC deserve to be in the championship. It has been through sheer pride and effort against all the odds that we got here and now look forward to season 3. If we are to have a real future at this level and build the club and the fan base over the next 2 generations then we need to be here in this league for several more years to come.

I think he'll stay ian he keeps dropping little hints and using the term 'we', "we have to improve the training facilities", "we have to set up the club to match the stadium" etc etc. He clearly has a good relationship with TS who lets him win at golf and who I suspect will do everything in his power to put the things in place that NW wants to see, not just because NW wants to see it, but because he has the experience to see that it is what the club needs to consolidate its position in the Championship and consolidate for the future.
He has a soft spot for RUFC and us the fans and he's helped us out before by lending us players when at Sheff U. He can see what needs to be done in order for us to compete in this division and I sincerely believe he wants to help achieve that. Cometh the hour cometh the man.
And to top it all we have matched a 50 year old record 11 games unbeaten, lets beat it next week.
Unfortunately we are an awfully long way from Cornwall. Needs to make some sort of decision soon as we will have to start looking for a manager. I thought TTB knew who we were getting? Probably wait for an announcement and say told ya.
If tony gives him whats he wants and gives him the backing then i think he will stay another season. tony needs to tell paul douglas straight, i have been hearing rumours he is against any training ground investment
Let me say I've been doing regular trips up and down the M5 since being 22 & now at 38 it knocks you for 6 for 24hrs - its no picnic & I hate to say it but I really think it will be to our detriment. Yes there's plenty of ways around it but NW is a tracksuit manager he likes being there in the thick of it. Had we been Bristol City - he'd have signed already. Its obvious we currently have a group of players who like the old ways, I agree with the old ways. Footballers need simple clear direction, while sports science has a place you cant ever replace doing the basics well, football is not a complicated game. I think if we can get someone with those ideals and 10yrs younger than NW I think we'll do just as well. But it would be great if NW could give us another season to give us time to properly recruit such a person. We cannot waste what NW has done for us that is certain & down to the board to enable us take that much needed next step
I,ve had an idea regarding NW.-Do a MK Dons and relocate to somewhere south ,say Exeter, and then Mr.Warnock will have no problems.----------SORTED!!!.

Genius idea Happy! They have more money down there to so a family friendly club with a big shiny stadium could prosper. The only flaw is that Exeter already has a club, but how about Poole Millers FC? Has a ring to it don't you think?

then we could have HARRY as well as a sort of,I don,t know,Director of Football.I don,t know why we need Paul Douglas and the rest,it's easy this.

welsh borders or Canterbury look decent relocation sites in terms of no other clubs around. we would get more sunshine too in Canterbury and if we all moved we might be able to swing a labour vote there too. win-win. There are enough working class folk within 20-30 miles too. I think NW needs to think about moving with us. He still gets some nice coast and country but probably better infrastructure and more places of fine dining and such to spend his money. It seems NW needs some location advice.

paul douglas seems to have a very pivotal role at the club.
He must have some skills and trusted judgement but is he really that influential over TS?

What worries me Ex is what are you going to do when you are 50?
Anyway. good point regarding a 'successor' to NW and his style. Who is out there with that command of respect and ability to focus and motivate? and not to mention the demonstration of tactics and calmness he has shown over this period.
What you are saying as well is that Bristol will improve as they are a bigger club and have potential to knock on the door of the play-offs at least. I agree. where does that leave us thought?
It seems we have been very lucky from that point of view. we need to have a much bigger improvement this year. Does anyone clearly see we can achieve that?
