I cant comment on the game tonight because I wasn't there. But having gained a point which virtually ensures Championship survival, having extended our unbeaten run to 10 games, I think with Warnock at the helm, the club will be on an upward trajectory come next seasons.
Game changed after they scored, we suddenly looked nervy and started pumping long balls up to Ward instead of playing it on the floor like we were doing in the first 20 minutes. Thought Frecks and Smallwood looked off the pace tonight and that gave Huddersfield the advantage in midfield rather than any tactical superiority of Wagner over Warnock - which is quite frankly nonsense. It was simply a game too many for players who have given everything and more over the last few weeks. But as you say it is 10 games unbeaten and to all to all intents and purposes, safety. So we can't grumble at one below par performance.
Question is can Warnock and the team break the record and at the same time guarantee safety on Saturday?
Different part of the season. All of a sudden we don't need to win games but we need not to loose. Different mentality, and that's what's shown in our last two home games. Less drive and passion, more thought n caution. But we were lucky tonight..
We looked tired & bereft of ideas tonight, but we got the point through grit, determination & sheer hard work, but the poorest display for some time.
PS; What I wouldn't give for a striker like Wells...........class!!
Real pace and good control and movement for Huddersfield. Let's not forget they have had some tremendous wins away. I thought we did enough for the draw. Game went in sections but no one dominated.
Wells was good tonight but that system suits him. I've ssen him play about 15 times and that was as good as I've ssen him play.
Small wood and frecks as others said Deffo off the pace tonight. Halford did well again and the two centre backs.
10 unbeaten is amazing. I hope he stays. I think we can finish higher if he does
Thought we looked leggy and not sure why he didn't throw Burke on after 70 minutes when we went into our shell a bit. I don't think Best added anything either - looked tiredest player out there!
However, 10 unbeaten is impressive - and the important point for me is that they didn't actually get the better of us, it was 1-1.
Think NW will know that we need a playmaker and a good striker but he isn't going to come out and say that yet - all his good work will be undone.
Redferns problem was he 'admitted' we needed better players and got in their heads - its a psychological game as much as owt else - NW plays the same players and goes 10 inbeaten.
But the credit actually goes to SE...lol :)
Quite right Yorkshire, its been a tough 13 games and the guys are only human. On saturday I thought the game was rather flat and there seemed to be something lacking, it seems last night was the same.
To be honest I think the players are getting physically and mentally exhausted, lets face it what they have achieved against strong opposition and the odds has been Herculean. The end is in sight and I think the effort over these last few weeks is starting to tell. Will we get to 11 games unbeaten? I hope so, but I cant blame the boys if we dont.
Reasons to be cheerful then, hence starting this thread against the original antagonistic thread with the same title lower down.

we know.
Its great to celebrate and be realistic as fans. We can all build on that and progress as a club and fans too.
You are both so right. The enormous effort both mentally and physically has been incredible . Not only to go 10 unbeaten but at such a crucial position in the season; games running out and players out of sorts and fans disgruntles. Simply marvellous from the management team and the players alike. Halford and co must have had to overcome some difficult feelings and NW used his undoubted psychological talent to heal and move forward into such positive displays.
Its quite ok and natural now to fall into a less intense rhythm but I am certain that we will still get results due to the higher standards of performance and togetherness and tactics the team have got use to. Even last night when Huddersfield naturally got a boost from their goal, I thought we did reasonably well to hold our nerve.
well done all and Im loving the feeling of another year at this level and what an interesting one it promises to be again. Isnt it just great being a Miller over these least several years...so much to celebrate and still to look forward to.
We didn't throw Burke on cause have you seen him, he wouldn't have changed nothing. Sooner have Shinnie on the bench, he could come on for Frecks. Newell should have come on, JCH instead of Best who I wouldn't keep. Best what has he done when he's played? I've not seen enough to warrant a new contract. Doesn't matter now this season, we need a Right back who can defend & get forward.
we were very lucky last night, we didn't play well but we got away with it. The players have given their all and deserve a lot of credit, shame pigs can't beat teams in the bottom 6 but nearly there now
After what MK did to Wolves it wouldn't surprise me if we draw on saturday
Have to agree about the ref, shocking. We must get all the bad refs because I have seen some sorry sights this year. I blame SE - they see his ghost screaming from the technical area!
i read somewhere that warnock has said that bexst has another hernia didnt he have this sorted .
to be honest i think if he can get them sorted he could come good for us next season if he stays
Yes I recall he did say that in his post match interview ont wireless. A fully fit and firing Best would be a great addition to the squad - he is proven quality.
