What style of football next season if Warnock stays?

Would you be happy playing the current style with Halford say in front of the back four and a lone striker? How successful would this be?

Or would you want to play a more 'skillfull' passing style where obviously we need a much better (and more expensive) squad?

Honestly I've not just enjoyed the winning but i like and enjoy the way we play.

I love the closing down, the retreating behind the ball and the quick counter with pressing the space . It really makes the players and team dynamic in response to what is happening on the pitch.

Warnock has achieved all this with what he had so I'd be more than happy to trust him with another season.

In contrast MK Dons played some nice deep possession football but at times it did look unattractive as it had no depth and no plan B.

Derby and Hull , I enjoyed watching , especially Derby who seemed to me to possess the best team this year. Their skill and power and speed in and around the final third was a joy to watch but they are an exception and it hasn't paid off quite compared to more conventional and economical styles like boro,  Brighton , etc.

Have to cut your cloth and I'm happy with the going out attire Warnock et al have hand sown.

Its horses for courses - we have to play a style that matches the abilities of the team, or we will end up in trouble. I think having GH in front of the back four has made us dynamic and quite exciting as we break out. Love to see Grant Ward here next season but worry he will be one that the others snatch off us, not least the rotherham panto villan SE. Not that I wouldn't enjoy a Barca approach to our football!

At the moment I think he feels this is about the only style that can get results with the current squad. Two up front would remove Halford and expose the defence again. It would need 2-4 new quality players to allow us to change our shape but as per the last two seasons we won't have the money and these players won't be available for free. That said he does feel we can free up 20-30k a week on wages with players that are not good enough I hear so that gives us a decent wage for 2-3 new faces and I feel he can spot a player.

Not a tactical expert, but I would agree with New Yorkshire. An adaptable squad that is able to swap and change depending upon the opposition with an interchangeable plan A, B, C, but I think perhaps we're doing that now to some degree to be honest, so a pretty pointless post from me on the issue, ha ha

Whilst Neil and his people have done wonders with what they have at their disposal, I think it has been a masterstroke of getting the best out of what you have got in the short term. I am not sure that we could play in this way and with these players from the start of the season onwards and expect similar results. I would think there will be a lot of changes close season to the playing personnel whoever is in charge, and perhaps also to the style of play. But that is for another day - we have to stay behind who we have and what they are doing until the immediate job is done.
