Carl Robinson's 'Not Excuses'

Comedy gold in his post match interview on BBC 3CR.  He wasn't making excuses, but (1) Derbyshire shouldn't have been playing because his red card shouldn't have been rescinded (2) they had key players missing (3) when they finally managed a shot on target our keeper had the audacity to save it (4) the penalty was not a penalty (5) they were miles better than us apart from in both boxes and (6) Smallwood mis-hit the shot for the fourth.  The score line really flattered us apparently.  But he wasn't making excuses you understand!  Fabulous support today and a great effort from everyone concerned.

Did he mention the following?

(7) It was unfair to field a Millers' Team who were too good for the MK Dons.

I heard it, was laughable really - man under pressure. When the interviewer asked him what MK needed to do next he paused for what seemed like an age seemingly trying to think of something constructive to say and then simply said 'yes I know what needs doing' and basically adding that he would go through it with the chairman 'if that's what he decides he wants to do'

Clearly not very positive about his future employment.

To be fair, if we hadn't scored any of our 4 and they had scored one or more they would have beaten us... I'm very surprised he didn't pick up on that and add it to his brilliant, honest and insightful observation of the game...

the wolves story sums up that club, they are a nothing club manufactured to exist in a town that doesnt really want them, the manager lacks class shame really as was a good player for us. Also remember that racing fiasco, they are missing players because during a relegation battle he lets them go out on the P, shocking management.

The manager at MKDons is Karl Robinson, the ex Miller is Carl Robinson.

Robinson was infuriated by referee Iain Williamson's decision to award the penalty.

"It was a horrific decision, horrific. We have seen it a number of times and he has told me a bit of a lie that I am not too happy with," he fumed.

"I still can't understand how he has given it. The assistant referee has told me afterwards that he said, 'No penalty, no penalty', but the referee has had a better view. He was stood behind Darren Potter, how could he have had a better view?

"He couldn't wait to give it, he gave it so quickly it's ridiculous, without asking questions of anyone else. He clearly got the ball and pushed the ball away.

"These aren't excuses, I'm only telling you the facts of the game."
