MK looked like a team devoid of confidence and self belief. What amazed me is their sheer insistence on not doing what it take to get the result, pretty football, the GK playing as a sweeper does nothing to help you when you're 2-0 down in a game you have to win..
At 1-0 they had 2 superb chances they should have put away, do that and the whole game becomes something different. We got a penalty then that was really it. Campy pulled off a blinding save to keep the free kick out and they hammered the bar at 3-0 but its too late by then - and that's why they'll go down. Principals might get you through the coaching ranks but when you become a manager that's what you have to do - manage - we just happen to have the best one in the division. It took NW 3 games to see what we CAN do, and said go out and do it, I'm not going to impress this or that on you - go out and do what you're best at - worry about that - not what the opposition can do - and start to enjoy your jobs and your football again - as that goes a long long way.
Grant Ward was exceptional today. Kirky Broadfoot his movement seconds before meeting that header was sublime. You know you're screwed is Smallwood scores past you with a shot he didn't even hit properly!
A win next Saturday and MK loss at Preston & Charlton loss at home to Derby and that will be as good as - with our goal difference
What a truly amazing 2 months - probably the most amazing turnaround in our club's history?
