I know NW has said that at 67 its time to chuck the towel in but I wonder if he'd consider carrying on under the same arrangement next year.
No reason to think that KB wouldn't get the full time job as he is only a lad and clearly can do something with the team, maybe director of football for NW?
Failing that Lord Mayor of Rotherham if we stop up.
Whatever happens, whether he stays or goes home and puts his feet up, the fact remains he has turned the whole atmosphere within the club, completely on its head. He's given ALL the players a new enthusiasm and belief and these last 7 games has made being a Miller fun again. From being resigned to relegation to feeling good and optimistic . Wembley playoff final apart, I have not felt so positive and excited at a game for many a year.
This period in the history of Rotherham United will be talked about with reverence and respect for years to come, particularly considering the dark days from the first game of the season. I remember his playing days at Rotherham and I would never have thought then that he would return all these years later and do such a great job for us. Its been fantastic, it really has.
I agree - I'm not one for knocking SE (he did sign these players) but I never felt he truly had a game plan or significant tactics. It's just nice to come to the game and be excited and dare I say expectant of a good show - and even a win!
I can't see it really - Cornwall is a long way from Rotherham and for a man his age to be doing all that travelling. I remember being a sales rep 15yrs ago and 300 miles a day wasn't unheard of, in those days I could get back to Swinton have a few beers in the Station and a blast on the Karaoke, and get up right as rain following morning to do another 300 miles. These days Exeter-Swinton knocks me out for 24hrs!
I'm sure there are other managers out there with the same ethos that can do just as well.
If NW gets us out of this mess, not only will be one of his greatest achievements but it will be one of RUFC's managers greatest achievements with all considered. As Richard Wood says, 6 weeks ago we were 6 points adrift, I remember putting up here the points return average required and it made your eyes water - we've surpassed that in this run which states in no uncertain terms what a massive achievement this has been from all concerned up to now.
Unfortunately, like players that perform well, other teams become interested and you end up losing your star men!
For me, he is doing a fantastic job and hopefully, we will be in the Championship next season. If he moves on, he moves on however........thank you for the ride, it's been unbelievable!!
