Passed away today far too young because of lung cancer.  What a wonderful player he was.  I was born in the late sixties, and he was at his pomp when I was glued to a TV watching the World Cup in 1974 dreaming of being a footballer and incredulous at his skill and grace.  A true football great.

Cruyff was a football visionary, both in his playing & coaching style.
I remember watching the 1974 World Cup in West Germany as an impresionable 12 year old being blown away by Holland's style of play, in which Cruyff was the catalyst, so much flair & imagination.

RIP Johan Cruyff, a TRUE great of our game!!!

I remember watching the game live when he did the now famous, "Cruyff turn" for the first time, It was truly amazing, no-one had ever seen it before and it was replayed over and over on the TV, the look on the defenders face is priceless "where'd he go????".
I think every kid around my age went straight over to the field with the a ball and started to practice that turn, truly inspirational and another sad loss!
