Ronaldo Useless?

He walked out of a Real Madrid press conference yesterday after being pressed on what is wrong with his form on the basis that he hasn't scored in the last four away matches. Good grief. I am not in his fan club. He is a bit of a petulant drama queen. But he has scored 32 goals so far this season - eleven of them away from home. He is a great talent. You can question his ego, image and propensity to fall over but not his talent or commitment. I wish we had somebody twice as bad. It shows what a mad place the world of football has become when he gets accused of under performing with that record. Incidentally Ronaldo scored what trying to be neutral is my favourite goal ever. A header for Man Utd against Roma in Rome. Vital part of a big game, Scholes stands up a cross near the penalty spot, Ronaldo arrives at full speed with a great leap and powers in a header taking out a big centre back in the process and injuring himself as well. Great goal. Not fancy, but full of power, commitment, bravery and athleticism.

Good for him. A question is OK but once you have an answer it's rude to press. The guys ain't a politician or accused of wrong doing . The press and folks on general could be more sensitive and focus on more interesting and helpful questions.

Ronaldo is footballs version of what Stephen Hendry was in snooker, that good at his profession its almost robotic. What Ronaldo does better than anyone is change direction constantly and at speed. Although top of the game in modern football, he is nothing historically, him & Messi their stats are incomparable with grand masters - I don't think he's a great player like Bergkamp was for example. I think they're right to question him, I think we would if 75% of the PL were semi pro and played in front of 5000 fans
