Just can't see where we are going to get goals from , we need to start and finish a lot better than we are any efforts seem to be long range dont create enough in box only player seems to want to get there is Burke at the moment not 100% about D Ward good work rate but no end product Darbyshire just appears to be going through motions always seems to be chasing ball but never gets to it ,there doesn't seem to be any understanding going forwards a couple of years ago Smallwood seem to shoot from anywhere now looks as if he's scared to miss ,not blaming any one player justs looks like no understanding between them to many times does Ward win the ball and not one gambles to try and anticipate seem to be rooted . Very frustrating .

I agree, its a real problem area. We persevered with our only recognised striker for a long time and since then we have tried alll manner of other options.

I wonder if Smallwood has been coached not to shoot since we get caught lots on the counter. The other aspect is that the midfield is just not dynamic enough to be a goal threat often and many of their chances are half chances.

More from midfield is another way of bringing the strikers in to play

It's not the goals scored. We've scored 9 more than Bristol city, 11 more than mk Dons and only 3 less than Middlesbrough but look at the conceded column. That's where the problem lies.

My thoughts exactly Fliker however, a good start on Saturday with a solid defensive display. I imagine this would be NW's priority as we are always likely to grab a goal.

Clean sheets are great, but at some stage we need to find a player capable of scoring goals. Saturday's display was good but did we really look like scoring?

I think its more different than that. I do drills with my 9yr olds teaching them how to create 'the quality chance'. At their age they're inclined to bee line for goal which is often too rushed and 1 dimensional. We suffer the same, our construction of chances is often too obvious or too rushed

Rush for goal only rush im seeing is for gates home , you only have to listen to crowd we want to see more effort on goal I know you have to keep defence shape but the only way you win games is by scoring more goals than opposition and at moment can't see us doing that ,hope when (if) Best and Bechio get fit they make me eat humble pie .

Completely agree, Saturday was a typical display in front of goal, virtually none existent! I think we've needed a striker for two seasons and really can't see any of current crop scoring anywhere near on a regular basis. That doesn't include any of our long term injured, who have yet to be involved. Will Best and Co ever play for us again?
