Cant believe all this Evans stuff doing the rounds. I hope its all tripe I for one would never have him back. The back to back promotions keep being quoted as a reason to have him back, but if that was the criteria why not have Ronnie back, at least in, my opinion, he made a better job of it for us with a lot less money, fewer players, a lot less fans and no NYS wow factor. In addition he had an eye for a bargain, Lee, Pollitt, Robins et al. It all reminds me of the Rippin Yarns episode "Barnstonworth United." Bring back the dead. I do wish some people would move on.

Eh up Len. I know you were just passing on the latest. I've also been trawling through the sites reading just about everything that anyone posts and Ive been surprised by the amount of posts, mainly on the dark side, that are talking about inviting him back!!!!!! Mainly because of the back to back promotions, which is a nonsense to me. I would absolutely agree with your last sentence too.

Annoying that Radio Sheff spoke to him. I didnt dare listen for fear  I might break the radio. What the hell does it matter what he thinks? And who cares? It is like asking Blatter who he thinks should run world football. Anyone but him.

By the way, is it right that the manager of one of our competitors in the Championship should express an opinion (even if asked) on what sort of manager we need? You would think he would be more professional than that. lol.

He was approached by Radio Sheffield to talk, so of course he is going to give his opinion.

Why? Managers get asked for interviews all the time and say no or side step certain questions because it would be unprofessional to answer them. If he had an opinion he could and should have kept it to himself. You shouldn't comment on who another club in your league should or shouldn't appoint. Lee Gregory was asked for an opinion about us once and answered, and someone told him he should have kept his trap shut.

Got to be careful on here as some fans still think the sun shines out of Evans arse, but he signed the dads army, put em on daft contracts, & now we're stuck with them. IMO we wouldn't have been in our present predicament if Tony hadn't have cut Evans far too much slack transfer wise. SE broke up TWO promotion winning squads at the beginning of the following season, he should have been TOLD by Tony to give the guys who got us up a shot at the higher league instead of cruelly discarding them, Mullins, Nardiello & Skarz spring to mind along with Cresswell.
I also heard albeit on an unreliable grapevine, that Frecks would be at Elland Road now if he wasn't injured.

seriously Brad - "Mullins, Nardiello & Skarz spring to mind along with Cresswell"

I would argree Skarz but the rest are all League 2 at best and when these 3 left I thought at the time these were great decisions.
None were "discarded", Nardiello recently had a kid and openly admitted he wanted to move closer to home, Cresswell had interest and joined a rival club and Mullins wanted go back down south.

Hes entitled to his opinion as any manager or pundit is.

Its not like hes having a go at someone in post.

I also think he is right too.

Nowt Wrong with SE. He did a good job for us, brought back some pride and we had loads of fun.

still, not everyone enjoys going to party's. Fair enough.

I like a good party but not one where everyone drinks themselves to death. SE didn't tell anyone that his roller coaster ride would end with a big crash. Although we were warned. I saw your post somewhere Ian about the importance of a chairman being able to trust his manager. I think you said Redfearn had to go as a matter of principle if he lied about Lenighan. Nowt wrong with SE though.

Well, I can dig out posts that said he was absolutely the wrong man 10 games ago. Like I said it was just an opinion but one I felt sort of certain about. It's a funny thing when you are really certain about something without what others think is adequate evidence.

Well, that's just to say there have been plenty if reasons to sack Redders but if it were true he lied about that affair then of course he should go.

I really don't have a clue what you mean about SE?

I don't recall defending him concerning his relationship to TS. I might be wrong but I d like to see it if you have found it Smiler because it doesn't sound like me...but I am married so my judgement can hardly be relied upon.
