Of course I do Derby. I also understand that statistics like that can be totally misleading. Put a manager into a club that is near the bottom when he took over, with a cartloads of players who were disastrous signings close season and in a league where they were struggling to compete even before the budget was blown and then judge him half a season later? Of course the bare stats aren't great. But to suggest that that makes him out third worst manager (which you imply) is too simplistic. You aren't comparing like with like. If he had taken over at a better time when we were in a lower league with room to grow and he would no doubt have a better win record. Van Gaal has better stats than Eddie Howe this year. Who do you think is actually doing the better job?
But Derby, you put a totally misleading post. Because it is 'stat based' you assert a fact that isn't a fact at all. That is wrong, and it wanted pointing out. I just pointed it out.
Sorry Derby but you used a statistic to assert something as a fact that clearly isn't a fact. That wound me up a bit. I understand simple maths very well but also understand that stats can be very misleading.
Stats are that aren't they a numerical record which (in football) make no mention of what's going on underneath. When we won was it 4 out of 7, who was saying we've turned a corner, we're suddenly half decent.
I don't think anyone would care if we lost 46 games in this league 4-3 we're not stupid, blinkered or ignorant of what we're up against. What does grate people is spineless football. We invest our time, money & efforts to be entertained, to see a group of players denied doing what brings out the best in them for the sake of a perceived bigger picture by management. Football is not complicated and I'm concerned Redfearn is simply over thinking, getting way to carried away with the opposition, rather thinking nads to that lets get at them. No team, no matter how good or how expensively assembled doesn't like being forced onto the back foot. That's all we want to see, our team setup to maximise what it's good at, having scant respect for the millions & wages in front of us and having a damn good go, so we can come home say lads were brilliant- we just lost is all. I'm sick of the zero risk football. I dont want to watch that & I certainly dont want to travel 500 miles, give up my weekend and see how much it hurts my bank balance to see that. I was going Brum, I was going to Burnley - not now, I'd rather watch my boys under 10s
